VERONICA'S POV:

I couldn't believe it. I was hoping that it was the drugs playing with my mind. I didn't want to believe that Nana's father was alive.
When Mister died Nana and I went through a lot. Nana had to deal with losing the one person who she loved dearly. While on the other hand I picked up a drug habit that could of nearly killed me.

I walked home and when I got there I just sat on the porch with my head in my hands. I had mixed emotions about everything. I loved Mister with will my heart and when he left I threw my whole life away to drugs. But it's just crazy to see him again when I didn't think I would.

"Veronica?" A familiar voice said. I looked up to see Ms. Alexander.
"Yes it's me." I replied putting my head back down into my hands.
"Is everything Okay?"
"I don't know."
"Look I know times are hard but you have to pull through this."
"I know but can you help me get clean. I want to do better for myself."
"Look I can help you get clean but you have to really want it."
"I do."
"Well you can meet me at the center where I volunteer on the weekends next to the church down the street in the morning at 8 to get you check into rehab."
"Okay, thank you so much I really appreciate everything."
"No problem Veronica here's my card call me if anything." She handed me a card then walked off. I just went in the house.

The next morning was the beginning of a big day for me. Also it was the beginning of recovery. I was waiting outside the center waiting on Ms. Alexander but then Ella pullled up instead.

I was a huge fan of Ella because she always had a good head on her shoudlers which is something I couldn't get from Nana.
"Hey Veronica my mother told me to make sure you get the help you need. She couldn't make it because she isn't feeling well so I'll be here to check you in and help you get adjusted." Ella explained.
"Okay."
"Are you ready?"
"Yeah."
"Okay why you didn't tell Nana to come down to support you."
"It's rough between us."

I knew Nana would never want to hear from me again. I did the worst things to her. Things she didn't deserve. I just wanted get better so I can get my daughter back.

"Well let's go inside." Ella and I walked inside the facility.

After a tour of the facility , I was told my visitation times, rules and regulations. Once all those things was done I was directed to my room where I met my room mate Alice.

Alice was a petite lady. She had to be around almost forty. She didn't look bad but you could tell she was recovering well.

"Hello I'm Veronica." I greeted.
"Hi , I'm Alice." She replied countiung to write in the notebook. She didn't even look up to see what I looked like.

"Look all that I ask is that you don't touch my things without my permission." Alice said.
"Okay. You got it."

After sitting in my room for while it was time for dinner. I was hungry and could wait to eat
