After the ceremony had opened, The Greeks paraded out of the arena. Their many followers soon followed after, cheering and laughing as they went.

The fact that many Athenians and Spartans were united, despite the Peloponnesian War was enough to make me wonder.

Now, you may just as confused as I am - how can people whose civilisation collapsed years ago meet at this majestic location in Olympia to fight out at this ancient-style Olympics?

Much like the Amazons flourished in particular societies and have sprung up in history as women of influence, so too have the Greeks.

Ever notice the similarities between the Spartans and the Romans? To how their influence is still retained in society today?

All Greeks, the lot of them.

Like us, they possess certain qualities, namely strength and valour. The rest of their talents were not divulged to me.

Knowing that I had to keep my distance from the Amazons, I followed them back to the polis.

I assumed a carefree strut and slow walk so as to not be as stiff and upright as the Deltas all were - a clear Amazon give away.

I strolled with the rest of the crowd and I tried to assume a more innocent and demure façade, pretty ironic considering the pregnancy but oh well.

I made my way towards one of the many taverna that adorned the city of Olympia.

This one was packed and the ancient feel was evident here. The mud-brick looking wall and

Wading my way through the crowd, I find a secluded spot and pretend to be interested in the event schedule. It was quite fortuitous that you provide enough wine to these people and someone is bound to spill their guts.

"Did you hear about the Ama-ama-ama oh you know them! The male-haters!" one quite inebriated man spoke. His companion, deep in his own liquor just nodded.

"Well, we all know the real reason for their liason," he said with a nod. "I'm quite familiar with it myself."

I was waiting for him to prod on with the information. Come on buddy, spill it!

"It's...well quite historic really. I always happens around here. It's not uncommon for these uptight women to search for it right about now."

Swaying too and fro, I was grateful that an intuitive bar maid slid a seat under the man so that he collapsed right on it.

"Well, what is it?" an impatient man said nearby. Thank you, nosy stranger!

"Well, what they're after ... every year!" he said, starting to slur.

"And?" the man said, more forceful this time. The feeling was mutual.

"What ... they need ... to survive..." he said, his eyes starting to flutter. Just blurt it out, FFS!

"Which would be?"

"What?" the drunken man said, confused. I swear I'm about to jump over this bar and choke this man out if he doesn't say something profound!

"You were saying that you know the real reason why the Amazons attend these games."

"Oh. Oh! Yes! They here..." he continued on, leaning near the man.

"Yes?"

"To..."

"Yes?"

"Find..." Gah! By this time I was preparing to knock sense into him.
