CHAPTER FIVE

{ AUTHOR NOTES }

Hi guys sorry for the long wait, but im kind of stuck with how I'm going to make Sarabi and Ellie friends, like I'm not sure where and how im gonna make the friendship start and how it starts. So if you have any suggestions please feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments or DM

Thanks guys much appreciated so without further ado I present to you chapter five ^ ~ ^

Sarabi and Manny were standing together at the back of pack, making sure that the creatures are going on the right path and that there wasn't anyone left behind. However, every now and then, Sarabi would occasionally look around hoping to see Diego. Since she has no idea on where he went.

"Come on! Keep it moving!" Manny loudly said to the slow stragglers.

This caused Sarabi to sigh as she looked out at the massive mass of animals, causing her to tense a little. So many animals and so little time, she was worried that there isn't really a boat at the end of the valley and that they were all actually going to die.

"Manny!" Sarabi heard someone yell, snapping her out of her thoughts, causing her to look over and saw Sid coming from the other side eating messily the blue berries that he found.

"I just heard you're going extinct!" Sid exclaimed as he stuffed his face with a handful of berries, causing Sarabi to inwardly groan.

'Stupid rumours.' Sarabi thought bitterly, narrowing her eyes at the Sloth.

"Hey, if you master hygiene, try working on sensitivity." Diego's voice broke Sarabi from her thoughts, making her form instantly calm.

She doesn't know why but for some reason just hearing and being near Diego makes her instantly a lot calmer.

"I'm not going extinct!" Manny grumbles to Sid.

"Kids, look! The last Mammoth." A father anteater said causing Sarabi and Manny to look over, while the kids all gaze up at Manny with wonder and awe as they let out a series of "oohs" and "ahs". "Well you probably won't see one of those again." The father said before walking away with his kids trailing behind him looking at Manny one last time.

"See!" Sid exclaimed pointing at the retreating family, causing Sarabi to sigh.

"Sid, just because someone hasn't seen another Mammoth in a while, doesn't mean that Manny is the last of his kind." Sarabi said softly looking at her friend. "They're out there somewhere I can feel it." Sarabi finished causing Manny to look at her with appreciation.

"Some day, when you've gone extinct!"

Sarabi couldn't help but to ground her teeth in annoyance, Sid's been singing different types of songs about extinction and let's just say it has been driving her absolutely insane.

"Shut up Sid." Manny said not even turning around causing Sid to let out a soft squeak in return instantly shutting up.

~ Another Le Time Skip ~

"Stop! Hey! Hey! What's that sound?! All the Mammoths are in the ground!" Sid continued to sing, but this time it was in a different tune and he was jumping and stomping around, causing Sarabi to get even more annoyed.

"Sid, stop singing before I make you stop." Sarabi said though gritted teeth instantly shutting the sloth up causing Diego to chuckle under his breath and how threatening Sarabi was.

~ Another Le Time Skip ~
{ sorry for all the time skips }

"If your species will continue clap your hands." Sid sings and then claps his paws together. "If your species wil-"

"Sid! I will fall on you again. And this time, I will kill you." Manny warns harshly cutting off Sid's singing.

Instantly Sarabi's ears started to feel so much better after hearing that because Sid immediately shut his mouth scared.

"Do you really think that there is a boat Diego." Sarabi asked the male Sabre who was walking next to her, causing said male to look at her.

"I don't know Sara, but I really hope there is one. But don't worry we'll make it there in time and be safe." Diego said causing a small smile to appear of Sarabi's muzzle.

"Sara?" Sarabi smirked a little at the nickname that Diego gave her causing Diego's cheeks to heat up and started to stutter.

"Don't worry." Sarabi giggled causing Diego to stop his stuttering mess. "I like it." Sarabi smiles warmly at Diego before hesitating and giving his cheek a little kiss causing Diego to almost stop walking making Sarabi giggle again as she walked on.

{ bout bloody time someone made a move.... oh wait I'm the author 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ }

After a while, Manny suddenly stopped at some icicles that were hanging from a little branch. Causing him to to stare at his reflection with a somber look on his face.

"What if they're right? What if I really am the last Mammoth?" Manny asked quietly causing Sarabi's heart to break hearing the sadness in his voice.

"But, Manny! Look on the bright side (of life *whistles* let me know if you get it) you have us." Sid exclaims trying to cheer Manny up.

"Not the most persuasive argument, Sid." Diego said causing Sarabi to shake her head at the two.

As soon as Diego finished speaking, a noise similar to that of a Mammoths could be heard causing everyone's eyes to widen in shock.

"Mammoths?" Diego questioned confused.

"I knew I wasn't the last one!" Manny said getting excited as he turns his head, making his tusk slam into Sid's body making Sid hold onto it for fear life as Manny started running.

Manny started running off to the right and runs in between two trees, too close to each other, he rams into the without stopping, Sarabi stared wide eyes at the retreating figure of her brother and friend before shaking her head and quickly ran after him.

~Le mini time skip ~
( Sorry but I honestly don't feel like writing this whole scene you basically know what happens so I'm gonna skip to when they found out the owner of the noise )

Jumping out of the bush, Sarabi instantly covered her eyes with her paws seeing what was the supposed sound of the Mammoths noise, only turned out to be a horse sitting on the toilet.

"Sorry. My stomach hates me." The horse said shamefully as he gripped his stomach.

"Ugh. That smell will put us into extinction." Sid said causing Sarabi uncover her eyes and look at him and saw Sid was covering his nose with his claws.

"Ew! Geez! Ugh! Phew! Nasty!" Sid continued to complain.

Sarabi watched in sorrow as Manny started to walk away, causing her heart to constrict knowing how he feels especially after being with him for so long.

"Manny?" Diego questioned once he noticed him walking away.

As I've said at the start of this chapter, please leave suggestions on how Sarabi and Ellie become friends. Originally I had it all planned out but since I barely updated I forgot how they were gonna become great friends. So please all suggestions will be taken into consideration and I'll make sure to shout you out with the idea when i do manage to get to that chapter.
