Part 3 out of 5

Hey guys, yeah so I'm going to be skipping the whole vulture singing scene, even though it's one of my favourite scene in the movie. I just didn't think that it was important enough for my book. But I did leave the scene up above.

Sorry it wasn't posted yesterday, I went to visit my nephew and sister and brother-in-law who live an hour and a half away from me and I kind of fell asleep writing this chapter.

But heck guys I think in the next 2 chapters this book is going to be completed, how exciting!

Hope you like it ;)

After the event with the vultures, Sarabi couldn't help but to get annoyed with Sid as he continued to sing the songs that the vultures were singing.

"Sid!" Everyone groaned as they wanted Sid to just stop singing the awful yet catchy song.

"What? It's catchy." Sid defended himself, causing Sarabi to huff in annoyance.

As they all made it up the hill, they all couldn't help but to let their jaws drop and gaze at whats in front of them. Just like what the vulture said, a boat at the end of the valley.

"We made it." Diego breathed a sigh of relief as he nuzzled into Sarabi, who smiled in return.

"Yeah, we showed those scary vultures." Sid said causing Ellie and the two possum brother's the start cheering whilst everyone had a small smile on their faces.

As they started to move forward, Ellie and Sarabi let out a scream of surprised as the ground in front of them caved in an hot water shot up into the air.

"Oh it's just a little hot water and steam. How bad could it be?" Sid said dismissively as he stared out into the open area.

Sarabi and Diego shared a worried and scared look.

As soon as Sid had stopped talking, a Dodo bird, which Sarabi thought all died out when trying to retrieve a melon, guess not. To prove Sid wrong, as the Dodo was walking, the group watched warily as the Dodo walked around without a care in the world. That was before a bunch of water shot up right under the Dodo bird, its cries of pain started to ceased and down came instead of a feathered body Dodo, a roast Dodo appeared.

Everyone stared wide eye at that, not wanting that to happen to them.

"I just did something involuntary and messy." Sid squeaked as he continued to stare at the Dodo roast. Sarabi all but cringed at the her best friend.

"OK, come on." Manny said stepping forward, causing Sarabi to look at her brother as if he was insane.

As Manny took another step forward he narrowly avoided getting steamed to the face.

"Manny. Get back. It's a minefield out there." Diego demanded.

"There's only one way to go. Straight through." Manny said, looking back at the group.

"Manny are you crazy get back now." Sarabi shouted annoyed and worried.

"Straight through? We'd like to keep the fur on our bodies, thank you." Ellie said as she stared wide eye at Manny and at the hot water minefield. "We'll head back and go around." Ellie finished.

"No there's no time." Manny rushed causing Ellie to stop in her tracks. "The dam will burst before we make it. We'll drown." Manny explained.

"If we go through this, we get blow to bits." Ellie shot back.

"We go forward."

"We go back."

"Forward."

"Back."

"Forward."

"Back."

"Can I say something?" Diego interjected.

"No." Both Ellie and Manny shouted.

'Great mum and dad are fighting again.' Sarabi thought as she stood next to Diego, a sigh escaping her lips.

"You are so stubborn and hard-headed." Manny groaned.

"Well, I guess that proves it." Ellie said causing Sarabi to look at her in confusion, proves what? "I am a mammoth." Ellie glared causing Sarabi's lips to form an 'o' shape.

"Come on." Ellie said picking up her brothers and walked away causing Sarabi to stare after her only female friend in shock.

"Let's go." Manny said walking away.

Sarabi just stood in her spot, looking from Ellie's retreating figure to Manny's retreating figure. She knew that she should go with Manny, but she didn't want Ellie, Crash and Eddie to be alone.

"Hey, aren't you coming?" Diego asked confused as he noticed his mate wasn't walking next to him.

"I just..." Sarabi let out a frustrated sigh of annoyance.

"What is it?" Diego questioned confused as he looked at his mate before looking back at the retreating figure of Manny.

"I can't let Ellie be out there by herself." Sarabi said chewing on her lip, letting out a huff of annoyance.

"I'm not letting you go back!" Diego exclaimed wide eyes as he looked at Sarabi in shock.

"What? Why not?!" Sarabi demanded confused as she looked at him with an annoyed look.

"Look, I just got you and I'm not loosing you!" Diego shouted, causing Manny and Sid to stop walking and look back and saw that Sarabi and Diego were arguing.

"And you probably won't. But I can't just leave my only female friend and two boys who feel like sons to me. Not out there, not while this flood is happening!" Sarabi growled as she glared fiercely at Diego, wanting him to stand down and let her go.

"Probably?" Diego questioned with anger causing Sarabi to let out a huff of air escape her.

"You know what?" Sarabi started through clenched teeth.

"What?" Diego questioned confused, but still had an angered look plastered to his face.

Looking behind her at the still retreating figure of Ellie and then turning her attention to Manny over Diego's shoulder with a small guilty look on her face that only Manny noticed causing Manny to let out a gasp.

"See you on the boat." Sarabi said looking at Diego, before turning around and started to run after Ellie's retreating figure, ignoring Diego's roars of her coming back.

"I'm sorry." Sarabi whispered to herself.
