Ice Age: The Middle

Chapter Nine

Sorry guys that this chapter is posted a little bit later then normal. I did an oopsie and fell asleep but I'm glad its actually posted on its due date that's all what I could wish for.

Anyways without further ado I present Chapter Nine

"Diego, there are whole continents moving faster than you." Manny shouted looking back at Diego causing Sarabi to stop and turn to look at Diego to see that he was a few feet behind. "Let's go, we gotta catch up with the others." Manny finished before walking ahead.

"Are you alright, Diego?" Sarabi questioned looking at the male with concern all over her face, not knowing what's wrong.

"Yeah fine." Diego said walking past Sarabi with a sigh causing Sarabi to glare down at her reflection of water before letting out a huff and looked at her surroundings before shaking her head and ran to catch up with the others.

As she caught up with the others she nearly tripped over Crash and Eddie causing the female sabre to let out a chuckle as she watched them slide and have fun.

"Hey. Knock it off." Diego said causing Sarabi to look at him confused. 

"Oh cry me a river, blubber-tooth tiger. Have some fun." Crash said after stopping next to Ellie.

"Can't you see the ice is thin enough without you two wearing it down." Diego said annoyed causing Sarabi to roll her eyes.

"Diego, come on. The ice may be thin, but it's strong enough to hold a ten-ton mammoth and a nine-ton possum." Sid explained looking at Diego.

"He's right you know." Sarabi said walking past the two as she took a quick glance at Diego before smiling softly at him as she walked ahead of them.

It was then that everything happened in a blur for Sarabi, one moment she was walking besides Ellie and the next thing she remembers was running to safety with Crash, Eddie and Ellie. Away from the monster.

Sarabi watched in anticipation as she saw her family out there, out there with those strange and ugly creatures. She was so scared for the safety of her family, but she knew that she had to stay with Ellie, Crash and Eddie.

Sarabi let out a breath of air once she saw that Manny, Sid and Diego made it.

"What in the animal kingdom was that?" Sid questioned shocked never seeing the predators before.

"I don't know. From now on, land - safe, water - not safe." Diego said before the three males walked over towards where Sarabi, Ellie, Crash and Eddie were waiting.

"Manny!" Sarabi shouted as she ran over and nuzzled against her the mammoth. "I thought you were a goner." Sarabi muttered to herself.

"It's okay Sarabi. I'm not going anywhere." Manny said ruffling her head with his trunk.

"That was the bravest thing I've ever seen." Ellie said referring to how Manny went against the purple alligator like predator. 

"It was nothing. I..." Manny started as he moved away from Sarabi and stood closer towards Ellie.

"It's not a compliment." Ellie said cutting of Manny who looked at her in confusion. "To a possum, bravery is just dumb." Ellie said as she started to walk away.

"Yeah, we're spineless."

"Lily-livered."

"Maybe mammoths are going extinct because they put themselves in danger. Maybe you should run away more." Ellie said stopping and looked over at Manny. 

Manny then put on a fake smile at the female mammoth.

"Good point. Thanks for the advice." Manny said watching as she walked away.

"Happy to help." Ellie called over her shoulder.

"Do you believe her? "Bravery is dumb. Maybe you should run away more"." Manny then mocked Ellie causing Sarabi to sigh in disappointment. "She infuriating and stubborn and narrow minded." Manny continued to rant causing a smile to appear on Sid's face.

"You like her." Sid teased as he walked up to Manny. 

"I do not." Manny said as he started to walk away from Sid.

"Don't worry. Your secret's safe with me." Sid said just as Sarabi and Diego started to walk past Sid. "And so is yours." Sid said looking at Diego.

"What secret?" Diego asked annoyed.

"You know, the one where you can't swim." Sid explained.

"That's ridiculous." Diego lied as he stood on a stone to cross the a little puddle of water. 

(This movie infuriates me to the core because in the first movie, Diego has no problem touching water but here he is being a dang wuss! okie we can continue my rant is over)

"Fine. But we're living in a melting world." Sid started causing Diego to pause and watch as Sid walked through the little puddle. "You're going to have to face your fear sooner or later." Sid finished before running away.

"You know, I sometimes hate it when he's right." Sarabi voiced her opinion causing Diego to jump in shock.

"How long have you been there?" Diego questioned narrowing his eyes at her.

"Sid is right you know." Sarabi said ignoring Diego comment as she walked through the water with no problems. "Come on, don't be such a sour-puss." Sarabi said smiling at the male before walking away and ran to catch up to Manny.

Diego was stunned to see that Sarabi had no problem with walking through the water. Diego sighed as he looked down at his reflection and couldn't help but to feel anger towards Sid, now Sarabi knew what his fear was she was going to be looking at him differently now. Sighing one last time, Diego shook his head before catching up with the others. Hopping and praying that Sarabi won't think of him differently.

Fek me with a giant billagong this chapter is up later then what I was expecting it to be. 

As I said, I did an oopsie and fell asleep for a long period of time since I forgot to set an alarm, so sorry that you guys had to wait for a long time it's like now 7:03 PM but I'm kind of glad that I actually managed to get it on the set date that I had plan so that's all what matters to me.

If you take out all Scratt scenes and some scenes from the movie, I say were are halfway through and still no Sarabi and Diego..... I feel lack in that department and I'm sorry but hopefully soon they are together, not sure if I want them to actually get together at the end because I've already decided that Sarabi is gonna go with Ellie, Crash and Eddie near the boat scene (spoilers I know) or let them go on a walk by themselves, kinda like Manny and Ellie do
