CHAPTER FOURTEEN

After the events that happened. The group decided that it was in their best interest to continue on with their journey, until they got into a little clearing. Deciding that it would be a good idea to rest, Sid started up a fire while Sarabi and Diego laid down close to the fire for warmth.

Diego couldn't help but to let a smile appear on his face as he stared lovingly down at the sleeping female Sabre who had a small content look on her face as she snuggled a little bit closer towards Diego.

Sid noticed that Manny and Ellie were approaching which made him narrow his eyes as he made a little wall between him and the two walking past mammoths. Once they were out of the harms way of turning off the fire, Sid started to drag a large piece of bark over to where Sarabi and Diego were laying.

Although the noise woke up Sarabi a little causing Diego to lick the top of Sarabi's head causing a small purr to escape Sarabi's lips as she was gently lulled back to sleep.

"Remember the good old days?" Sid suddenly asked causing Diego to stop licking his mates forehead and looked over at Sid.

"Which good old days?" He asked confused, looking down at Sarabi for a split second before looking back at Sid.

"Oh you know. Yesterday, last week." Sid said, placing his piece of bark on the ground. "Back when the trees went up and down and the ground stayed under our feet." Sid explained as he used his tail to clean off the piece of bark causing Diego to cringe once Sid's tail hit his nose.

"Yep. Those were the good days." Diego muttered. "Possums were possums and mammoths were mammoths." Diego said smiling down at the sleeping female Sabre. "We should get some sleep." Diego said softly, looking at Sid.

"Yeah. Tomorrow's the day the vulture said we're all going to die." Sid nonchalantly said as he suddenly passed out onto his piece of bark, causing a small smirk to appear on Diego's face before looking down at the love of his life.

Still Diego can not believe she had said yes to being his mate. Although, Diego wished that it was on better circumstances and not that the end of the world was happening. He actually thought about everything on how he was actually going to ask her, but that plan went out the window two days ago when the vulture confirmed that Fast-Tony was right about the World suddenly ending.

With a sigh, Diego laid his head on his paws and started to drift off to a nice and peaceful sleep and dreamed about how his life would be like, now that Sarabi is his mate.

~Le next morning: Brought to you by Sid getting kidnapped by a pack of mini sloths~

As Diego started to wake up, he let out a big yawn growling a bit as he got down and stretched before feeling a wet substance on his paws, causing him to lift up his paw and look down a bit confused.

"Water?" Diego questioned confused before his eyes widened in alarm. "Water!" Diego shouted before he jumped away and onto Manny, causing Manny to get scared and wake up in a frenzy and knocked into the tree that Crash, Eddie and Ellie were sleeping in, causing all three to fall into the water.

 "Crash, I told you not to drink before bed." Eddie said looking around him.

"I didn't do this." Crash protested as he glared at his brother for accusing him. "At least, not all of it." Crash mumbled underneath his breath.

"Diego, what's going on?" Sarabi yawned softly once she felt him nudging her awake.

"We overslept. We need to move." Sarabi heard Manny's voice which instantly woke her up and she couldn't help but to let out a small gasp of shock once she saw the little lake that wasn't there when they went to sleep.

"What if we're the last creatures left alive?" Eddie questioned in horror, before hugging his brother closer towards him. "We'll have to repopulate the Earth."

How? Everyone's either a dude or our sister and someone who we see as a mother." Crash questioned annoyed which caused Sarabi's heart to thump in it's place.

"Oh, hi. Hey, Manny." Sid's voiced called out which caused everyone to stop and look over at Sid as he appeared from the bushes which made Sarabi question where he had been.

"Wow. What a night. You'll never guess what happened to me." Sid said walking over towards Manny, just as Sarabi and Diego walked over.

"I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you were sleepwalking." Diego guessed, which caused Sarabi to nod her head in thought.

"No, no, no. I was kidnapped by a tribe of mini sloths." Sid said making Sarabi confused. Mini Sloths?

"That was gonna be my second guess." Diego lied causing Sarabi to nudge him a bit with a small smile on her face.

"And they worshiped me." Sid exclaimed causing Sarabi to turn her attention back towards Sid as he continued to tell what happened. "I mean, sure, they tossed me into a flaming tar pit, but they worshiped me." Sarabi let out a little gasp when Sid mentioned that mini sloths tossed him into a flaming tar pit.

"Sid, you were dreaming. Come on, the water's rising faster than we're moving." Manny said speaking up as he started to walk off, with Ellie, Crash and Eddie right behind him. Diego following in tow.

"I'm telling you, I was kidnapped. I was worshiped. Guys." Sid stammered with a sad look on his face.

"Come on, Sid. Let's get to the boat." Sarabi gave the sloth a small sad smile, which she ended up receiving as well causing a small pang of guilt to well up in her heart.

So what did you think? Yes I know that there isn't Diego asking Sarabi to be his mate is because I'm saving it for a later date, that and I have no clue with what I'm going to write to...

The end of this book is fast approaching and it's getting me hella emotional. I can't believe how far we've come for this. It makes me really happy that I have supportive and patient readers like you
