A/N: Wow finally doing a request :,) still have lots of writers block but I'm getting better! Have any requests, please tell me!
Jack Kelly was in his usual selling spot a few months after the strike. It had been a great few weeks of selling papers and Jack couldn't help but have a bit of a spring to his step with how well he felt things were going for him.
He had just sold another paper to a lady who was charmed by his charismatic demeanor. Jack pretended a bit, flirted, and tipped his cap with a wink.
But in reality, he only had eyes for his boyfriend, Crutchie. The sweet boy who was always there for him with freckles to make any man melt. Jack looked across his selling spot to see get a glimpse of Crutchie across the street.
But he didn't see him.
Jack hadn't had a reason to worry quite yet, Crutchie could've just wandered off for more customers, decided to walk back to the lodge alone. Anything.
What Jack didn't expect to see was Crutchie across the street, giggling and blushing about something with someone who definitely was not him.
He glared across the street before taking a breath, assuring himself it was nothing and damn did Crutchie look cute. Jack quickly walked across the street towards Crutchie and waved, grinning when he waved back.
"Hey, Jacky! Look who's here!" Crutchie giggled and Jack's heart skipped a beat until the person Crutchie was talking to turned to face Jack.
Spot Conlon.
"Hey 'Jacky'" Spot teased, holding out his hand, offering a handshake. "It's been a while," he smirked, "came by to see how everyone's holdin' up and ran into Crutchie here." Spot winked at Crutchie and Jack huffed, stepping closer to him when Crutchie giggled more.
"Yeah, yeah, nice to see you." Jack kept his arms crossed and Spot assumed he was acting tough.
"We were just talking about how you and Spot have very similar selling tactics!" Crutchie beamed, leaning on his crutch.
Jack bit his lip. "How do you mean that?"
"Both exaggerate a little." Spot chuckled. "At least, that's what Crutch calls it."
Crutch? Jack huffed, wrapping an arm around Crutchie. "Anything to get a little bit extra cash, I guess." Jack faked a laugh and grimaced when Spot agreed, nudging Crutchie.
"I better get going. Got some people to see." Spot shrugged, smiling. "But we gotta catch up, kid. It's been great to see you, ya look good."
"That would be nice." Crutchie nodded, moving away from Jack for a moment to shake Spots hand. Jack felt the handshake was way too long and muttered some insult that neither of them could make out.
"See you later, Kelly." Spot gave a genuine grin and waved goodbye to the two boys as he walked off.
"He's really nicer than people say." Crutchie spoke up, looking up at Jack.
"Yeah, yeah." He mumbled. "I'm gonna head back to the lodge. You comin'?"
Crutchie nodded, tilting his head. "Of course. What's wrong though, first." He questioned.
