A/N: Got the cutest request from based off this line: "He thought back on the times he had woken Jack up for things as simple as feeling his hand move slighty from his own" so here we are! I loved writing this because it's so nice and sweet! Thanks for reading :)
One
Crutchie woke up feeling cold. Of course, this wasn't an unusual thing, as Crutchie was cold quite naturally, always needing two or three blankets and a warm drink for good measure. Yet, this feeling of cold was different.
He wasn't freezing, exactly, but something did feel off. It was sort of like when you're sweating under a blanket and the only thing to make you feel better, without becoming cold, was to stick one leg out from your blanket.
Something slight was off and all Crutchie needed was to stick his leg out of this metaphorical blanket.
Crutchie opened his eyes slowly, pouting his lips. He couldn't place exactly what was off until he looked over at Jack, who was lying close to him, comfortably. But, there was one problem.
Their hands weren't touching.
They weren't holding hands how Crutchie always liked to be. Jack was curled into himself, a blanket draped lazily over his body. They could have been sharing half the bed, but Jack was never close enough. His hair was messy and Crutchie swooned at the look of him, sitting up slightly.
Even when Jack looked so comfortable, something in Crutchie made him want to wake him up anyways. With a small whimper, Crutchie shook Jack slightly, "Jack?" He whispered, mumbling under his breath, "Jacky?"
Jack woke up easily and Crutchie assumed he hadn't been sleeping for long. "Baby?" Jack asked, squinting his eyes to see Crutchie in the dark. "Everything okay?" He asked, quick to sit up and get to Crutchie's level. He yawned, attempting to fix his hair.
Crutchie blushed, nodding his head, "Ye-Yeah, everything's okay-" he felt sort of bad for waking up Jack for his simple request, but knew it was too late to change his mind. Crutchie wasn't great at lying, even worse when it came to lying to Jack, that just wasn't something he did. "I just...felt cold."
Jack rose an eyebrow, starting to feel fully awake. "Cold?" He turned his body towards Crutchie, "am I taking up all the blankets, I'm sorry Crutchie." He grinned and pulled the blankets towards Crutchie and sort of tucking him in, "better?"
"Um, yes, but I wanted to...your hand..." Crutchie blushed, looking down.
"My hand?" Jack asked, looking down at his hands in confusion, lying back down, close to Crutchie.
"When I woke up..." Crutchie almost rolled his eyes at himself, how bad he was at verbally telling Jack what he needed it that moment. He was usually better at all of this but was too embarrassed to ask for a simple thing, "we weren't holding hands, we weren't close enough."
Jack, amused, chuckled softly, understanding what Crutchie meant. Their hands were basically attached most of the time, or they were at least cuddling. It wasn't surprising to Jack, but really, a super cute thing for Crutchie to want from him. Swiftly, he grabbed Crutchie's hand, wrapping a free arm around him.
"Better?" Jack asked, kissing his forehead gently.
Crutchie nodded, "better."
Two
Jack was used to Crutchie waking him up now. He thought, perhaps, Crutchie needing him made him a lighter sleeper. He was always ready to give Crutchie whatever he needed. This time, of course, was not any different.
He woke up with a jump, turning to the bathroom door that several feet away from the bed. The door was open, the light pouring in, and Jack was not surprised to see Crutchie standing next to him looking quite stressed.
