I walked with Lagertha's almighty Army towards the battlefield

I walked with Lagertha's almighty Army towards the battlefield. The sami waited patiently in the forest for Ivar's soldiers to approach the end. I walked up the green meadows, not a bird in sight above us. The sun shone down with its blessing shining over us.
I unsheeted my sword, gripping it firmly as I walked on. Ivar's men stood opposite them. They were split while all of our warriors stood in the huge shield wall. My fingers twitched on the blade, a buzz going through my veins as I thought of slicing through every soldier that opposed us. Lagertha didn't yell. She merely raised her arm and dropped it to the floor, signalling for the archers to let loose. Next up was us.
Every warrior ran forwards to meet those of King Harald and Ivar. I was among them, at the very front of the shield wall.
My sword crashed through skulls, feeling them smash and break beneath the force of my almighty blade. Blood soaked the once peaceful green meadows turning the earth red. I spun round, slicing a man's head clean from his body before continuing forwards. My arms ached as I swing my sword on repeat. The muscles within them tensed under the pressure, sweat dripping down me. I stayed strong, holding my sword. I was running up to kill yet another soldier when I heard the retreat of Ivar's troops being sounded.

I looked up from the ground towards Ivar's chariot, blood smeared over me. He looked back with a look that told me this wasn't over.
When I turned back to camp, that's when I saw the destruction that I had caused. Pools of blood filled the green shrubbery. Mutilated bodies piled up from where I'd come. All dead. The stench of the battlefield hit my nose as I began looking for survivors. One of Ivar's warriors had caught Lagertha's eye. I instantly recognized the man.

"Bishop Heahmund?" I questioned as I ran over to him and Lagertha. Lagertha looked to me for help carrying him out of the battlefield and I obliged. Perhaps he could be of use to us in our war against Ivar.

We all knew that the war was not over. We'd won the battle but what was next? We waited days for more news. When it finally came, no one was sure what to do. Rollo, brother of Ragnar Lothbrok and well known traitor, was helping the opposition with a fleet of Norman warriors. We were outnumbered. Out everything.

Bjorn had gone to speak to our enemies. I knew it wouldn't work. We were going to lose. Ivar knew that. Lagertha knew that. Bjorn knew that. That is why Ivar would not back down now. He knew that we were scared.

Oof I lied. It's another filler. NEXT chapter will be longer. I'd also like to say that this book is coming to an end. I CANNOT WAIT to share the ending with y'all. It's a BIG ass ending. I recommend y'all read the epilogue as well because it will SHOOKETH YOU ALL. But yeah I'm really excited to publish it. Big things are on the horizon. Ty all for supporting. Enjoy.
