I could see the golden gates of Valhalla getting closer. I smiled, running over to them. I was ready for this. I wanted this.
I was dead. Finally I would get to see all whom I had missed. My mother, Egil, Sigurd.
I ran through the dense trees. Finally. I reached a clearing in the trees, the golden doors now towered over me. I stepped towards them slowly.
I could hear my friends from within. Before I could step inside, the doors closed.

"What is going on?" I whispered desperately.

A feminine voice pulled me from my thoughts as a hand reached to touch my shoulder, "The Gods are not ready for you yet." The stunning blonde shieldmaiden told me. I looked to her in confusion before realizing who she was.
She was a Valkyrie.

"What?" I asked confused.

"You have been blessed by the Gods, Aneira Branwen. It is not your time to die yet."

Her voice echoed through my ears as I slowly drifted back into consciousness. My eyes darted open and I inhaled a deep breath. The air filled my lungs. I sat up and felt where my wound had once been.

Nothing. Nothing at all.

I was alive. And I had been blessed by the Gods.
Now I knew that I had to do what was right.
My first thought, after everything, after waking from my death...

Was Ivar.

I was going to kill him.
