School was tiring as always.

When was it not?

Feeling like she needed a distraction for a while, she texts her mom.

Kwan:
Im gonna be late for
a bit

Mom:
Where are you going?

Kwan:
I wont be long
I promise

She notices that she evades her mother's questions, but proceeds to change her textmate.

Kwan:
Where's the nearest bar

Jae:
Are you sure? Do your
parents know??

Kwan:
I need to wind down
Tell me

Again, she avoids the question.

Jae:
Sighhh
Alright if you insist

Jae:
Three blocks frm
my home

Its just a small building
And there's a large sign

Just say my name
and you'll be fine

Jae:
Yahh.
Don't go home drunk

She smiles a little at that.

Kwan:
I won't thanks

With that settled, she keeps her phone and asks directions toward her destination.

A bouncer was there, dark sunglasses perched on his nose.

She sees his steely gaze land on her, and she says with surety and confidence, "Lee Jae."

He nods once and lets her in.

The bar wasn't what she expected. She thought there would be loud party music and people dancing around the floor. But it was just calm, with a rusty jukebox by the corner spewing out love songs from the fifties.

Sin Kwan takes in everything before heading toward an empty seat.

A waitress walks over to her and gives a friendly smile.

"What would you be having, miss?"

"Just a cola please."

With that, she left.

Kwan leans her head on the table, feeling the headache ebb away.

The bar wasn't so big but it wasn't that cramped either. There were three men by a table playing poker. She also spotted an old couple having dinner, presumably to celebrate their anniversary.

It was normal for the most part.

And she liked the atmosphere it released.

There were no brawls breaking out, or people making out in open places.

There's no blinding neon lights.

But there was a stage in the center of the large room, and she wondered what it was for.

Just as the same waitress reached her, the lights dimmed and a stage light flashed on the stage, where she saw a teenage boy holding a mic wearing a goofy grin. She noted the casual clothes and mumbled a 'thanks' to the waitress.

What's happening?
