GowriNandanag my sis as promised chap 2!

He smiles wide and waves to everyone, who all turn toward the young teen and gape at him. He was still smiling, as if he enjoyed the attention.

"Hello everyone good evening," he starts. "I'm Kim Seokjin, and lemme brighten up your night." He pauses. "Get it? 'Night'? Cos it's supposed to be 'day'." He laughs at his own corny joke, and Kwan grimaces at the attempt.

But to her surprise, some people grin and chuckle. How is that possible? That was the lamest joke she ever heard.

He sweeps his hair with one hand, the other now holding on to the mic.

"Now I'm gonna share a joke, and all of you have to try and guess alright?" He raises his brow suggestively twice, and some people answer their confirmation while others just stay seated and wait. Or others really don't care at all.

Without knowing, Kwan leans her chin on her closed fist, interest piqued as she waits with bated breath.

"What does the dog say to the wall?" There's that excited grin, and Kwan wonders why it's there. Or she's really guessing the answer to the ridiculous joke, even if she didn't want to.

"Bark bark!" answers one from the audience.

The teenage boy shakes his head.

"Nope try again."

"It's woof woof!"

He shakes his hand. "Ooh, so close yet so far!" He does a dramatic action of placing a hand on his heart, pained expression gracing his face. Kwan giggles.

That's the first time she's laughed in a long time.

She covers her teeth with her hand, eyes flitting up to the young boy every once in a while.

"Do all of you give up?" he calls to the mic, most of the people nodding and shouting.

"Tell us the answer!"

"Get off the stage!"

And those things.

Kwan suddenly felt the urge to smack the person who told the guy to step off. Her lip twitched.

"Wol-wol!" And he laughs.

There's a three-second silence before the rest of the audience laugh.

Not because of the joke itself, but because his laugh was something else.

It wasn't so boisterous and like the usual 'haha'. It was like a squeaky kind, and he clapped his hands as the audience followed suit, some cheering.

It reminded Kwan of her father who cleaned the car every Saturday. It was like a... what's the word?

What was that thing on the car?

Ahh... windshield wiper.

Yeah, that was it.

And she smiles a little, sipping her cola daintily.

Weird kid.
