Kwan:

back

Jae:
Your...

Kwan:

I let u borrow it

Jae:
Huh??

Jae:
OH okay
I found it sry

Will bring it back :)

Kwan:
Thnx

Still it didn't come.

Kwan was by the library, desperately needing to solve an economic problem about elasticity, but she didn't have her calculator!

Talk about the frustration.

There was another ding from her phone, and she hurried to read it, hopes high, only for her to visibly deflate once the message sinks in.

Jae:
Out w/ fam
Sorryy!!

Kwan harrumphs in displeasure.

But then there was another message.

Jae:
I gave it to Jin
He's in the local lib
studying :)

Sorry again! 😣

Sigh... she doesn't have a choice now does she?

Packing up her things, she mentally tries to remember how to go to the public library, since she was in school reading about the elasticity of demand.

Another sigh and then she was off, at first slow, gradually picking up pace once realizing that she had a homework to complete.

Aish.

Finally, she reached it.

The public library was made of stone, round and mighty as it stood in the center, stairs circling the entire radius.

The stairs were made of marble, and the huge doors that of oak.

Once Kwan opened the doors, it was to be hit with the scent of old books and thick tomes.

She smiles; she had always been a book lover.

But then it fades once the realization sinks in: this library was bigger than her own house.

How was she going to find that boy amidst the crowd?

She resigns herself to the task of walking around this huge building, making sure to check every corner and space, even though she encountered a couple making out in between.

The horror...

As if fate had been kind to her.

She spots him, finally, sitting by the window with his nose buried in a book.

As she approached closer, she could see his perfect brows knit in concentration, mindless of her presence.

She stands beside the table, and he thankfully looks up.

But what made her frown was his next movement, which was bringing up a hand to rest above his eyes.

"Gosh, who put the sun in front of me?"

Eh? What was he talking about?

Then his face flashes a grin, his hand lowering, before explaining "You. You're too bright for my eyes."

She gets it immediately, and she gives him a deadpan look.

"Jae said you had my calculator?"

Jin just stares at her, before it clicks and he's digging inside his bag.

"Oh yeah. Well here it is."

He offers it to her, and Kwan takes it, though their hands brush briefly before she feels her heart beating abnormally fast.

He smiles, warm and bright, before she bows with a stutter in her step, cheeks red as she walks away.

Jin's own smile turns soft, and he chuckles before clicking his pen and getting back to work.
