Dinner in the Adeleke's residence was do quiet. Only the sound of the plates and cutleries could be heard. The maids were tiptoeing round the dinning table as they responded to their needs. Modurotoluwa stared at her food like it was a strange substance. Adebola noticed that her daughter wasn't eating and frowned.
"Moduroti why are you not eating?" She asked and her daughter shook her head.
"Don't you like the food?" Adeire asked in deep concern.
"I do aunty Adeire," Modurotoluwa replied with a shaking voice.
Adebola stood up and moved to where her daughter was sitting.
"Baby,what's wrong?"
"Nothing mum," Modurotoluwa replied.
"Then why are you not eating," Adebola shouted in frustration and the rest of the family gasped in astonishment.
"Adebola, you should never talk to your daughter like that," Adebayo said.
"I am sorry dad," Adebola apologized.
"Modurotoluwa, what's wrong with you? Don't be scared, just tell us," Adebayo said gently.
"I heard the maids saying that I am a bastard. They said that I am a bad girl that want to bring sadness to the family. I am sorry, I did not know that I brought bad things to this family. Mummy, please take me back,"  Modurotoluwa said admits sobs.
Adeire went to Modurotoluwa and hugged her.
"Er....... Adeire please take her with you upstairs. I will tell the maids to bring your food,"
Adeire nodded as she led Modurotoluwa upstairs.
Immediately they left, Adebola burst into tears,
"C'mon you don't have to cry. All this will pass," Temilola said.
"If the maids are talking like this, what will they say in church, in the office, sport club. What will our business partners say? I am so tired. I wish I hadn't gone to the place that day. Mum, I am so tired of everything, someone is threatening my life and I don't know what I did. My daughter is going to continue to think about what the maids said but I can't shout at them because there is an iota of truth in it. I am just tired,"Adebola lamented.
" Adebola, I promise you, all will be well. I will make sure nothing happens to you and our grand daughter," Adebayo said.
"But dadddd.........."
"Don't worry,we are together in this," Adebayo said, Aderenle and Temilola nodded.
******************************""Are you kidding me? You haven't been to ICM,Whispering palms,Omu resorts,Slave trade market,Apapa amusement park........." Adeire asked.
"Mummy doesn't take me out," Modurotoluwa whispered sadly.
"Oh my God,Don't worry,I will take you there. We will pick a place to go every weekend." Adeire said and Modurotoluwa's face lit up.
"Aunty Adeire, have you been to Disney world before?"
"Yes,there was a period of time that we weren't living in Nigeria. We left when I was two years old and came back when I was sixteen. So,we went to Disney world when we were living in Florida,"
"No wonder, my teacher said my mummy speaks like an American," Modurotoluwa said smiling.
"Yeah, I am 100 Percent sure that you will have to change your school," Adeire said and Modurotoluwa frowned.
"Because dad will want you to go to British international School,"
"No problem, I actually hate my school," Modurotoluwa said and Adeire laughed.
"Why?"
"They are all ugly," Modurotoluwa said and Adeire laughed.
" So there is no fine person in your school?" Adeire asked smiling
"Only one boy. His name is Timileyin. He said I am his crush," Modurotoluwa said smiling hard.
"Awwwwwwwwwn, don't worry. I'll dress you well tomorrow so that Timileyin will like you more," Adeire said and Modurotoluwa nodded.
******************************
Adeire was on a phone call with Chinonso. She was sitting by the window and she was playing with her fingers.
"Seriously I was astonished. She is too young to have a crush," Adeire said laughing.
"I had a crush in primary school. I stole my mum's wedding ring and I went to give her. When my mum found out,she was mad."
"Oh my God," Adeire said laughing hard.
"You really like her right,"
"Yes,I did not have anyone to talk to while I was growing up. I'm so happy." Adeire said.
"Ouch,I thought you were comfortable with talking to me,"
"Oh God! Chinonso!!!! You are different." Adeire blurted out. There was a moment of silence until Chinonso broke it by coughing slightly.
"So, did you take any today," he asked.
"Yes, I didn't want to but I felt like I would die if I didn't take it," Adeire said sadly.
"Then start little by little, reduce the way you take it. Don't worry ehn,"
"Okay," Adeire responded.
"So I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, don't come empty handed oooo," Adeire said smiling.
"Okay, good night. Take care,"
"Good night,"
******************************
Adebola heard a knock on her door and she went to answer it. She saw a maid holding a wrapped box.
"Madam, I see am for gate and I see your name there. So I just think say make I come give una,"  The maid said in the Nigerian creole.
"Thank you," Adebola said as she accepted the box.
She closed the door and took a deep  breath before opening the box. As she saw the content of the box, she screamed and she started crying hard. Her dad, mum, brother, sister and daughter ran to her room immediately they heard the scream.
******************************
Detective Olaoluwa slammed his fist on the desk. This was the hardest case he has ever come across. There was no clue to finding the person that was threatening the first daughter of the Adeleke Family. There couldn't find a strange fingerprints on the notes and the notes were written with ink.
"Oh God!!! What do I do?"
His job was at stake. He had a sick mother to take care of in the hospital.
