Chapter 16

"Can you imagine?My parents are not even in my side,they even suggested they all go together. She was shot last week and she wants to go to the amusement park," Adebola ranted to Detective Olaoluwa. He was the detective in charge of her case. He invited her to his office for questioning.
"You are saying all this from your point of view,have you looked at it from hers?" Detective Olaoluwa said as he tapped the table gently.
"I am trying to protect her,the culprit is still out there,"
"Are you sure that is all?"
"Yes,why else will I be doing this,"
"Because you are hiding her from someone,"
"What are saying? That I know something about all this?" Adebola said frowning.
" No,I didn't..............."
"Then what do you mean? Do you think I will lie about this?" She interrupted angrily.
"No,Miss Adeleke, I.........."
"You know what, I am done. If you need anything,call my secretary," Adebola said as she stormed out.

Aderenle entered his office and saw Helena putting a file on top of his table. He groaned inwardly at the size of the file. When Helena saw him,she smiled and said,
"Good morning Sir,I thought you were suspended,"
Aderenle took her hand, pulled her closer to him and said,
"I can't stay away from work and from you. I have to see you for my day to be complete,"
"Really," Helena said raising an eyebrow.
"Yes,I really like you Helena and I know you like me too,"
"How do you know?"
"Er.... I...". Aderenle stammered.
Helena laughed, tiptoed and gave him a kiss. As she moved back, he dragged her and gave her a deep kiss. After a while, the moved apart smiling.
"So should we have our first date on Friday?" Aderenle asked
"Er...... I'll check my schedule," Helena said smiling.
"I'll pick you up," He said.
"You don't even know my house,"
"Then I'll know it today," He said smiling.
Adebola walked in into her brother office and saw her brother and his secretary smiling. She coughed slightly and the both of them looked up sharply.
"Hi Guys,how are you?" She said smiling.
"Good morning ma," Helena said looking down and Adebola nodded.
"Why are you here? I thought dad said you should not come to the office for a while," Aderenle said concerned and Helena quietly left his office.
"I thought you were suspended,"Adebola replied.
"Yes but I have a lot of things to do,"
"Oh,I came to get some files regarding the EMR Cooperation contract."
"Why?I told Dad I'll do it,"
"Well,we can't trust you enough to do it. If we lose this contract,this company is in big trouble," Adebola said firmly.
"But dad also told you to stay at home for a while," Aderenle protested.
"Yes and I am back now. Do you have any problem with that?"
"No,I don't," He said quietly.
"Okay, I'll be at my office if you need anything and send this files to my office. I want to see dad at his office," Adebola instructed and her brother nodded.

"Aunty Adeire you can't play that way,it is cheating," Modurotoluwa protested. She was playing Scrabble with Adeire.
"I am so tired, I don't want to play again," Adeire said yawning.
"But I am bored," Modurotoluwa pouted.
"Okay,what should we............." She paused when she saw Chinonso enter the room.
"Hi,"  She said as her face lit up
"Meet my niece Modurotoluwa and Tolu meet Chinonso my teacher," Adeire said smiling.
Modurotoluwa(tolu,Moduroti,Mo for short)
"She is really pretty,how are you?" Chinonso said as he bent down to Modurotoluwa's height.
"I am fine, thank you," She replied smiling.
"So what are you guys up to?" He asked.
"Nothing,we are bored," Modurotoluwa replied.
"Why are you guys playing indoors not outdoors?" He inquired.
"She is just recovering and her wounds are not fully healed," Adeire said.
"Oh okay,let's watch a movie on Netflix," Chinonso suggested.
About an hour into the movie, Modurotoluwa fell asleep on Adeire arms. Adeire was gently patting her hair as she watched the movie.
"Is she okay?"  Chinonso asked concerned.
"Yeah,she is but everybody is worried. The culprit is out there and it is so dangerous for her to be outside right now," Adeire replied.
"Will she be home schooled?"
"I don't know for now but maybe she will be later on,"
"I hope you are reducing the amount of drugs you take everyday?"
"I am trying but it so difficult. I don't want to go to a rehab," Adeire said quietly.
"But you have to go,I can't help you and you know it,"
"Why can't you help me?" Adeire asked.
"Because we are attracted to each other, Adeire tell your parents,"
"I can't,they will be disappointed." She replied close to tears.
"They won't. They love you. Please tell them,please do it for me," He said as he held her hands.
"I'll try," She said and Chinonso nodded.

"Hi,dad," Adebola said as she walked into her dad's office. Mr Adeleke's office was very large. It had a bedroom at the left,a mini kitchen,a small office for very private meetings,a large office and a compartment that had sofas with a very large TV. Mr Adebayo Adeleke looked up and said,
"Why are you not at home?"
"Because I want to work,"
"Then work from home,"
"Dad! I can't keep staying at home because someone is after my life," Adebola said frowning.
Adebayo stood up,moved close to her and said,
"Adebola, please promise me that  you will be careful,"
"Yes Dad,I will. I came here because of the EMR Cooperation contract. When is the deadline for the submission of the proposal?"
"You could not ask your secretary that?" Adebayo asked smiling.
"I just wanted to see my daddy's handsome face," She replied smiling.
"That reminds me,is your brother in his office?"
"Er.....dad....er...." Adebola stammered.
"I thought I told him not to come,why is he here? To play about with that his Secretary?"
"Dad, please forgive him. He won't handle any major project until he becomes serious,so let him just come to work."
"But next time he tries this, I'll sack him and if he comes to work, I'll call the police,"
"Okay dad," She replied smiling as she kissed him good bye.

"Why is your house so far?" Aderenle said as Helena told him to turn left.
"Because it is cheap and comfortable,"
"But it is too far to the office," Aderenle said and Helena shrugged.
Thirty minutes later,they got to Helena's house. It was a small bungalow that was divided into two flats.
"Is this your house?" Aderenle asked pointing to one of the flats.
"Yeah,so I'll see you tomorrow?" Helena replied.
"Yes," Aderenle said as he moved close to her and gave her a kiss.
"Will you be able to find your way back?"
"Yes ma. Make sure you lock the doors and when you do, call me so I can go back home," He said and Helena nodded as she came down from the car.
Few minutes later,he heard a scream and he ran to Helena's house to make sure she was okay.
When he got there,he saw Helena bending down with her arms on her knees,and her head on her knees. She was shaking.
He looked around and he saw the head of a human being on top of a black nylon. He ran to Helena, hugged her and said,
"It is okay,I am here."
He held her as he called the police.

"Why did you put his head in his girlfriend's house?" She asked.
"Because he disobeyed,so everyone connected to him has to suffer for it,"
"Killing him was not enough?"
"Woman!!!! Who are you to question my authority? Do you think I don't know that you betrayed me? You took care of her daughter for five years without my knowledge,"
"Er.....er....er,"
He moved closer held her hair and said,
"If you don't want that little girl to see her darling Mrs John dead,then behave."
