There's More To Her

(22) Paisley's Return

-2 years later-

Dylan and Bucky and the kids drove up to the boarding school to see Paisley graduate. Dylan had Ava and Kinsey's hair with curly pigtails with them being so close in age they were often asked if they were twins as they looked almost identical except Ava had blonde hair and Kinsey has dark hair. Connor who was now 8 years old was looking more like Bucky every day said "Daddy I need to go to the bathroom how much longer till sissy is done." 

"Dylan baby I have to take him to the bathroom he can't hold it." Bucky said in her ear. 

Bucky found the bathroom and let him go then came back and sit down with the girls. The dean of the school said "Paisley Nicole Barnes." 

"Yay sissy" Connor said as he clapped 

Bucky started whistling as Dylan and the little toddlers sitting on her lap were clapping and all smiles. After the ceremony was over she came over to her family and Bucky said "God baby you look so grown up and looking even more like your mama' as he hugged her.

"Well dad I'm 18  now." she said 

"Sissy sissy" Connor said 

She squatted down and hugged him and said "You have gotten so big Connor." 

"I play football like daddy." Connor said as he hugged her. 

"Oh well that certainly explains how you have gotten so big." Paisley said.

Then she saw her mom and hugged her. "I love you mama" she said 

"I love you baby girl I'm so proud of you." Dylan said

Then she squatted down to the two toddlers that were holding Bucky's hands and she swallowed hard and said "You girls are looking so big you sure do make me proud to be your sister to have two beautiful little sisters" 

Dylan looked at Bucky who looked at Dylan and smiled. "Let's take big sister out to eat shall we" Bucky said 

"Good cause I"m starving." she said 

They all got into their car and went to Red Lobster to celebrate Paisley's graduation. "So I got accepted into 4 different colleges and I need help deciding." she said 

"Okay where did you apply to baby" Bucky said 

"Um UNC University of TN University of South Carolina and UGA." she said 

"Well it depends on how far or close by you want to be baby." Dylan said 

"Where did you go mama?' Paisley said 

She smiled and said "I forgot you wouldn't remember me and you made it work at UNC." 

"Dad?' Paisley said 

"Baby dad went to UGA but that was because I had a football scholarship and then transferred to the community college back home after I lost my scholarship so I'm probably not the best person to ask." he said 

She chewed the inside of her lip and said "I think I might go with University of TN and stay close I have been gone to long." 

Dylan smiled and said "We would love to have you close by baby." 

That weekend she cleaned out her dorm and they headed home with her. She got her old room set back up and Bucky helped her get a car. One day she was at the store with Dylan and the girls helping her do some grocery store. 

She saw Asher with Kaci and said "They are still together." 

"Yeah baby we were invited to the wedding earlier this year. They have two babies together." Dylan said 

Paisley looked down and said "You know mama I use to believe in true love cause I love your love story with daddy I was hoping to have the same thing with Asher." 

Dylan hugged her and said "Baby you will meet who you are suppose to be with when the time is right. It took me and daddy a long time to come together." 

By the end of the summer Bucky and Dylan were so happy with the decision that they had made for Paisley. They saw all summer long how much more mature and responsible and less attitude and looking at her final grades for her senior year they were beyond proud of her cause she had a 4.0 GPA and that was better than where she was when she left. 

She loaded up her car and left to the college that was two hours away. Bucky hugged her and said "Baby one down 3 more to go." 

"Shut up don't remind me that we just sent our first born to college and we are in our 30s." she said 

"Do you regret it baby everything with me back then." he said 

"No.. I will never regret it baby you and I were meant to be we just had to fight like hell to get here." she said 

"I had to get to know you better and see that there is so much more behind this beautiful face." he said 

She smiled and said "I love you James Buchanan and I always will." 

"I love you Dylan Cheyenne now let's go make the other 3 lunch." he said as they went into their garage holding hands.
