There's More To Her

(41) Baby Barnes #2

Two weeks after she told Bucky she was pregnant for the second time they were at Dr Carter's office. She came in and saw how big Presley was and she said "Are you going to be big sister already?" 

"Mama has a baby in her belly" Presley said with a smile.

"Gosh she's gotten so big." Dr Carter said 

"And very sassy' Bucky said 

Dr Carter started the appointment up after she did Dylan's exam she started up the ultrasound and said "Here's the heartbeat guys and here's the baby." 

She started to do measurements then said 'Okay you look to be 9 weeks along due in April since your last period was in May. " 

"Well let's hope this one isn't like it's big sister." Bucky said 

"Yeah really." Dylan said with a laugh.

Dr Carter laughing and said "You all leave that little girl alone." as she hands ultrasounds to Dylan. 

After they left their appointment they headed over to the elementary school as Presley was starting preschool and they were going to meet her teacher and see her classroom. They pulled into the parking lot and Dylan sighed. 

"Gosh this makes me feel so old." She said as she looked around their old elementary school. 

Bucky laughed and said "Yeah the fact that we have a daughter about to start school at our old elementary school is scary." as he got out of the car. 

Dylan got out of the car and they put Presley in between them as she held both of their hands.

"Where are we mommy and daddy?' she said as she looked up at them 

"We are at your school baby. We are going to meet your teacher for when you start school in a couple of weeks." Bucky said as he picked her up. 

They went into her classroom and saw her teacher then they heard "My god have you two grown.""

They both looked up and Dylan said "Mrs Barnum." 

"You are still teaching here. When we saw the name we thought it was like your daughter." Bucky said 

"Oh no I'm still teaching preschool when I had you all in my class I was fresh out of college so whose this beautiful little girl." Mrs Barnum said 

"This is our daughter Presley Ann Barnes." Dylan said 

She smiled and said "She's a perfect combo of my two best students. It's good see you Dylan and Bucky. Here's your list of what she will need things have changed since you two were in preschool. And I know she's 4 but please tell me that she is potty trained." 

"Yeah she is. But she still likes to wait till the last minute." Bucky said as he read over the list.

"That's fine we tell parents to pack extra clothes." Mrs Barnum said 

Bucky let Presley down and she started look around and Dylan said "Come on baby let's find your name so you know where you sit when we come on the first day okay. Remember mama showed you how to spell your name." as she took Presley's hand.

Mrs Barnum looked over at Bucky and said "You two together who would of thought. I figured she would be in Nashville by now with her pipes and you with the NFL." 

"We chose our own fate and dreams. Dreams that we wanted instead of our parents." Bucky said

"I heard about both your dad and her mom I'm very sorry about that." Mrs Barnum said 

"Thanks.." he said 

"I also heard through the grapevine that you two along with two of my other students had a brush with death as well." she said 

"Yeah..that was scary even more scary when she's in the back seat screaming she doesn't want to die." Bucky said 

"Well I'm glad that you two are here and I'm happy to be starting her off just like I started you off. Now tell me what you two are doing." Mrs Barnum said

"Dylan is a English teacher over at the high school and I'm a history teacher at the high school as well as the new head football coach." he said

Dylan walked back over and Presley said "Daddy I found my  name!!" as she jumped up and down and then said "Come with me" as she took his hand and pulled him to her seat. "See daddy Presley Barnes" 

He smiled and said "High five you are so smart just like your mama." 

Dylan smiled and they talked a little longer with their old preschool teacher then they went out to the car. "Gosh this is weird Bucky she's got our old preschool teacher." she said 

"I know." he said as they pulled out of the school parking lot. 

They picked up supper then headed home and ate supper. They put Presley down for the night about an hour later then they both started to work on lesson plans for the upcoming school year of their first year of teaching.
