“Hey Linds! Why don’t you check out the beach while we unpack!” calls my dad as I finished unpacking my things for my new room.

“Okay! I’m done unpacking! I’ll be home by 6!” I reply going down the stairs, and then slipping on my sandals before heading out the door.

I just moved to Los Angeles, because my dad switched jobs I guess you can say that, and they wanted to be somewhere warmer, and be close to the beach.

I actually like it here, it’s better than having rain and wind back in Chicago, where me and my family used to live back then.

My name is Lindsay, just an ordinary klutzy girl back then, but hey, I was popular, and a straight A student, but I am no nerd, nor a diva. I’m just me, who’s athletic, pretty, and bright. I have caramel colored long medium hair and beautiful aqua eyes, I’m a pretty short person, unlike other people, and it’s hard to reach high shelves at school.

I’m pretty sure I’ll make some new friends when I go to school in September, at Hollywood Arts.

Recently, my boyfriend, Ryan and I broke up after months of dating, he thinks that I’m the one who is cheating on him, but HE was the one, I was at Starbucks getting a Frappuccino and waiting for him to take me to school, when I saw him and this other girl laughing and holding hands.

I just can’t stand seeing my heart break into tiny pieces again, I just can’t handle guys who have little trust and who say untrue things, and get mad at something that isn’t a big deal.

This is just a sad moment, but I just don’t wanna talk or even think about what has happened to us all along, we had our ups and downs, positives and the negatives, the good the bad, the nice, the mean, all those things that have caused us.

As I approached the beautiful beach, paparazzi came over, but they didn’t come near me, they came near a famous person that I might have recognized immediately.

I sat down on the warm sand and let everything out of my head, including him. I needed a fresh clean start on this new school year, maybe I’ll find the right guy, who doesn’t break promises, and has trust.

This is LA! This is like a love-city, every star is even rumored to be dating another person, and I see couples here, I swear I think I saw like ten of them already.

I’ve been thinking about my dreams with Ryan, walking on the beach with him, and surfing, we we’re planning to do that during the summer, but my heart’s shattered.

I took out my iPhone and stared at the picture that was the background, me and Ryan, I didn’t have any other pictures on my phone because I transferred them over to a computer, now I have to deal with this crap on my phone.

"Why do guys have to be the opposite when they're dating someone? Sometimes they're just stupid enough to realize that they have a girlfriend." I mumbled to myself as I looked at the view of the beach.

“Um, why do you think guys are so stupid nowadays?” said a boy with a heavy Australian accent.

I looked behind me and saw a guy my age with shaggy blonde hair, and aqua eyes, I felt embarrassed already.

“I’m sorry to offend you about my statement, you see, I’ve been through a lot before summer started and- I” I started to stammer, and the words started mixing up together.

“It’s fine, my name’s Cody,” he says smiling really big and extending his hand so I can take it.

I take his hand, and I die a little, because it’s my favorite singer! I didn’t want to start fangirling over him; he’ll think that I’m crazy and annoying.
