(Gets gory at the end :/)
We discussed how their managers wouldn't want them posting for a while- and that might outrage the fans, but we all hoped they'd understand.
[A week later]
Sam explained a lot of plans they had for their new content. "But you won't explore anymore, will you? Those were my favorite kinds of videos." I asked concerned. "Of course we will! Its our brand. Just... more carefully, ya know?" He smiled. "I'm glad you think their cool Kaitlyn." "Well, I like spooky, run-down, abandoned places. I used to go exploring with my friends when I was littler." We started talking about what crept us out as kids and what didn't. "Maybe we should try to record this video about the 'Sam and Colby 2.0.'" He stood up and walked over to the stairs, yelling up at Colby. The brunette came down the stairs, "What?" He asked, turning the corner into the living room. "Let's do this video dude." Sam set the camera on its stand in front of the couch and threw a burgundy blanket over the back of the couch. "Fine. You gonna be in it Kait?" Colby asked, looking over at me. "No, no. Its a big announcement for you guys. I'll stay out this time." I set my phone down on a nearby table. He nodded and went towards the kitchen and came back with a shirt around his head and pulling his arms through.
They started their intro, but not without a few laughs and deep breaths to calm themselves. I plugged in my earphones and quietly trekked the stairs to my room and stayed there- for hours. I didn't know what it was but every once in a while I just font want to talk or interact with people. Maybe it was Sam and Colby's situation- but that couldn't be it... that was weeks ago. I sat in my chair and looked out the window into the darkness outside.
I decided to sneak into Aaron's room and see if he was there. It was 11 o'clock, he's probably at the gym or something. I knocked and with no surprise, no answer. I sighed, there was a sound of a door opening and I turned around to see a once again shirtless Colby in the dark of the hallway. I gave him a smile, there was a sound of Corey and Jake talking and laughing downstairs.
"What's up? Aaron not here?" He asked, voice slightly raspy. I shook my head. He nodded. "I've been editing for the past like 3 hours. Had to get away from it for a while." I took a small step and ran my fingers through my ponytail. "Yeah. Staring at a screen forever can really damage your eyes. Had to do a paper on that in high school." A frown tugged at the corner of my lips. "I fucking hated essays."
He chuckled, "Wanna uh, hang out? You be been.. unusually quiet." "Yeah. It's nothing." I walked to my room and opened the door, flipping on a lamp before sitting on the end of my bed. I checked my phone, a few snaps from friends and insta notifications. He closed my door and sat beside me, but laying against my backboard. "So, what else are you guys planning to do for your 'Sam and Colby 2.0?'" I asked unlocking my phone. "It's a surprise ~" he whispered. "How am I supposed to participate if I font know what you're doing??" I turned around to face him. "You'll find out." I sighed, leaning back fast toward my floor, causing him to reach for me. Instead, I quickly put my hands on the floor and kicked off my bed. He looked utterly confused but I just plopped back on the bed on the pillow beside him. "But like what kind of videos? Scary, stupid, serious- ooh you could do conspiracy theories! ("No.") -or like weird videos??" "A little but of everything-" I got excited, "- but not conspiracy theories." "Aw," I whined. "But how weird though..." "Weirder than you can imagine." He said, probably getting frustrated at me asking questions. "Bet. Nothing can compare to when I overheard you and Jake saying 'dat ass' over and over in stupid voices." He turned red, "oh..." I laughed for the first time in a little while.
We talked for hours. I don't usually tire easily but after everything that's happened over the past few weeks, I was due for a good rest. With Netflix playing quietly on my phone and his warmth up against me, I was soon engulfed in a peaceful sleep.
Peaceful so far-
I dreamed about the life I was living right now- which is abnormal since my dreams are usually extremely far from real life. I dreamed we were making videos, exploring damp, scary woods when I felt I was being watched. I searched around, thinking nothing of it; probably just paranoia. My flashlight caught a glimpse of a figure behind a tree to my right. I caught up more to the group; the person was gone. Now to my left he was there again but closer. I tried to catch up more but I tripped. I called for Sam, then Colby... no answer they just continued to walk. I gasped when I heard a stick break and heavy breathing hovering around me. With a mumbled high-pitched laugh the figure was standing beside me. It kicked me over forcing me to look up at him from the ground. I heard my heart pumping in my ears and my anxiety skyrocketing. I shined my light up at it; it was the thing from my previous nightmare. I sat up some, pushing myself backwards from it. It brandished the same knife as before, putting it at my neck, now causing my phobia of sharp things to be thrown right into the pile of things I'm now worried about. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die.. I thought over and over. Not yet. Said a deep, dead-sounding voice. Everything went black. I "woke up" tied to a chair, with several other chairs in front of me with sacks over their heads. Oh shit... what's happening... The figure slowly, one by one takes off the sacks. Every one of them has some type of wound; bullet in the head, slit throat, etc. It's all the roommates. I started to cry, I could feel the warm sensation run down the side of my face from the corner of my eye. Your turn.. Said the voice. Something sharp was put at the base of my neck and-I sat straight up with a gasp. Colby, half-awake, sat up a little slower. "What? What happened?" I started to sob even more. I hugged him tightly around his neck, tears streaming down my face. "I had a terrible nightmare... like last time except he killed everyone else too. And- And-" That was as much as I could get out. "Hey hey. It's okay, its okay" he gently stroked my hair. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to wake you up. I don't know where this keeps coming from.." "Its okay. I was only drifting off anyway. At least you're okay, that's all that matters," he wiped my face. "It's just... scary. Like my mind is using things I'm afraid of to turn against me." "Let's not talk about it now, you're okay..." He comforted me back down. And I finally feel back asleep.
