  I thought of how I'd tell Colby that I liked him. I texted him along if he'd like to go with me to get lunch and hang out at a place in used to go when I was younger.

Colby:
Yeah, sounds fun. I'll even pay if you want.

You:
No no no, it's my idea. I'll pay.

Colby:
Okay. Where's this place you want to hang at?

You:
Can't tell ya. It's a surprise ;)

Colby:
Are u asking me on a date..?😏

You:
No!!😶

Colby:
😋. What time

You:
11:00?

Colby:
Deal. See ya in a few minutes gotta finish editing.

You:
Bye.
 

I had almost an hour to get ready. I walked to the kitchen, grabbed some breakfast, and dashed up to my room.
I ate my food as fast as possible and ran to the shower.

[30 minutes later]
I heard my phone don't as I was doing my hair.

Colby:
Wya y/n.  almost 11.

I panicked. You:
Um I actually just got out the shower- make it 11:30!!

Colby:
Haha okay. See ya

I turned on some (favorite band) and blowdried my hair, put it up, and did a lil makeup. I walked to my closet and picked something casual to wear; ripped jeans, t-shirt, flannel around my waist. I slipped on my (favorite shoes) and strolled out my door, quietly closing it behind me. I checked the time, 11:25 wow I'm on time for once.
Colby opened his door and greeted me with a smile. "hey! you ready?" I nodded and smiled back.

I get another ding from my phone: a text from Aaron.

Aaron:
So u gonna tell him yet...?😏

You:
...possibly.

Aaron:
C'mon! Don't be scared y/n. What's the worst that could happen?

You:
Being rejected and awkward.

Aaron:
well.. yeah, but u got this. Now go on

You:
oh shush and go back to sleep

Aaron:
Hehe :P

We drive to (favorite restaurant) and ate. Then drove to the surprise place.

"Where even are we?" He stared out the window at the fields of tall grass.
"Surprise. Can't say." I said, eyes affixed on the road.
"It's the middle of nowhere out here! Wow kinda peaceful. How much longer?"
I glanced out the window and saw an old shack. "Almost there."
"Is this the part where you kidnap me out into the middle of nowhere and murder me?" He gave a small smile at the edges of his mouth.
"Not unless you keep talking." I glanced over at his stunned expression and couldn't help but laugh.  "I'm joking! No it's a place I used to with my parents when I was younger." I smiled at him.
He gave a faint smile back. "sounds cool". He leaned and turned up the volume of the radio when it started to play (favorite song).
We both sang to it and laughed until we got there.
It was a barn in the middle of a field with a small stream running nearby and an apple orchard off to the right.

He was speechless. "it's so nice here. It's beautiful."
"Yeah. I can't believe it's still intact." I kicked a piece of wood colored with faded red paint. We explored for a little and played in the cold steam.
"Race you to the orchard?" He challenged.
"You're on!" I smirked.
We reached all the way across the barn lawn to the array of trees.
"I win!!" I shouted throwing my arms up.
"No no no, I clearly won." He panted with a smile.
"Whatever makes you happy. But I still won," I climbed the nearest tree all the way to the top.
"Be careful. Don't break an arm or something."
I looked around from the tree top. "Please! Your taking to a tree climbing master." I bragged, climbing down.
The old branch snapped underneath me and I tumbled to the ground.

He rushed over and say me up. "Y/n! You okay? Tree climbing master, huh?"

"Ow ow my arm, I can't move it-"
He picked me up and took me to the car. "We need to go to the hospital. How fast of the nearest one?"
"7 miles into town." I hissed in pain.
"Okay just try not to move it or touch it okay?" He instructed.
I nodded and leaned my head back. "Worst date ever.."
"So it was a date?" He looked over at me.
"Uh no! You must've misheard. I said day."
"Mhm...." He made a sarcastic agreement.
"Ugh just keep your eyes on the road dude." I looked the other direction but he was still smiling at me.

We eventually reached the hospital, got checked in, and placed in a room. The doctor put me on some kind of painkillers that make me feel woozy and my brain turn to mush. The doctor poked and prodded at my arm and turned to Colby. "she has broken the bone. In 2 places, in fact and obviously we'll have to cast it. Colby nodded and the doctor went to go get the supplies.
I looked over at him, my brain still mush, and smiled.
"What?" He asked.
"You're cute..." I giggled.
"O-oh.. thanks?"
I giggled more, "I like you~"
He blushed a dark red, "you what?"
"-like you~"
"Y-you do?"
I nodded and giggled as the doctor walked in and set the supplies on the table. "sorry she's a little woozy and crazy right now." He picked up my arm and started to cast. I picked a black wrapping to go on it. I was prescribed medicine for the potential pain and we left.
"Thanks Colby... That was really dumb of me."
"It's nothing." He grinned, "but did you really mean what you said in there?"
"What'd I say?"
"That you like me and think im cute?"
My eyes went wide and my face went red.
He smiled and drove off. "I'll take that as a yes."
I sighed and nudged him in the shoulder.
