Oddly, I woke to the sound of birds singing, in a tight hold by a sleeping Colby. So that's why it's so hot in here. I joked to myself. I couldn't really move because one of his arms was underneath me around my waist and the other around my stomach. I tried to fall back asleep but couldn't so I just laid there. My mind started slipping back to the terrible nightmare I had last night. My inside wrenched at the thought alone, I laid thinking how glad I was to know it wasn't real. But what if it was? I voice rang through my rolling thoughts. I very quickly shook that idea out of my head. I slowly and extremely carefully lifted up his arm from my stomach and sat up slowly so the bed wouldn't creak or anything. Then slipped on yoga pants over my shorts and pulled down the borrowed hoodie.

I quietly creaked down the stairs and into the kitchen, opening the fridge with a quiet creak. I looked at the time on the microwave 12 o'clock already? How did I sleep this late? I grabbed a random thing of food and went to heat it up. I cringed when the timer on the microwave beeped even when I tried to open it prematurely. "Crap.." I whispered to myself. I looked at the stairs and waited a minute for a sign that I woke someone. With nothing, I went back to what I was doing.

About an hour later, the first person I saw was Aaron. Which is normal since he's up all night. "Heyy." I said energetically. "Morning." He muttered. "You mean afternoon." He smiled weakly and rubbed the back of his head. "Everyone still asleep?" I asked pausing my phone's music. "Idk. I know that Corey and devyn went out somewhere I guess. Sam's probably editing or whatever he does." I nodded. A few minutes later, Sam came down, fully dressed and wide awake so I figured he'd been up for a while. I smiled briefly as he walked by me into the kitchen. "So, what's the plan for today Samuel?" "Well, packing. You got a suitcase?" I whipped around, "Wait, wait. Packing? Why??" "Colby said everything we do is a surprise to you now so," He shrugged, "it's a surprise. Corey and Jake are going too. He went pout to grab stuff." I nodded slowly with my eyes narrowed. "m'kay...."

I went up to my room, and very quietly got the borrowed suitcase out of my closet and packed some things up. Colby woke up and groaned, rolling over, looking at me. I looked up at him, in the middle of putting something in the case, eyes wide and startled. "Hi-" I said quietly. He wiped his face with his hands and sat up, "you okay? What's that for?" He looked at the suitcase. "Sam said I needed to pack for something. He said he was not allowed to specify." He smiled sleepily, "Good." And laid back down. "What time is it?" "9 o'clock." I joked. "Fuck, seriously?" "No. It's like almost 2." "Shiiiiit." He rolled over on his face. "Cmon. You gotta pack too." I picked his shirt off the floor and threw it at him, landing on the back of his head. He groaned again and rolled off the bed lazily.
We spent the rest of the day packing and the guys planned as I stayed in my room or in the kitchen.

The next afternoon we drove less than 10 minutes to a huge, old-looking hotel. We all piled out of the car and went to go check in. As soon as we walk in, we were talking amongst ourselves and Corey pointed in front of us, "I hope there's wind." Sam turns the camera in that direction. Corey repeats himself. A Chinese new year decoration hanging from a tiny waist-high tree was swaying very fast. "Whoa, that's... weird." I said casually. There had to be some kind of reasoning behind it. Everyone got slightly panicked. "This is foot lettuce chills, dude." Jake said. I turned to him confused, "...foot lettuce chills..?" We asked the receptionist is she'd tell us some stories about the hotel but she said later when she wasn't busy.

We made our way to the room. Everyone kept comparing the place to scary movies, freaking Sam out. We finally find our room after getting lost like 20 times. In the midst of every one trying to find all the lights, Jake says, "That's the most luxurious ceiling titty I've ever seen." Again, confused, I looked up, but got bumped into by Sam. "Extremely luxurious, Jake, extremely." I said sarcastically. Corey jumped on the bed face-first. A second later after he got up, Colby was freaking out. "What dude?" I asked. "Corey did you just put your hands there??" "NO! No!!" He stared at the bed. Everyone freaked out. "Dude, he just flopped on the bed and pushed himself up." I said level headed. Again, I was ignored.  They went crazy about the handprints for a while. I just sat down and watched. They eventually calmed down and we did the intro. Sam started explaining the Black Dahlia murder and how it took place here. I've always been fascinated with the murder since I heard about it. Later, Jake turned off the lights and a few of them researched the hotel. Sam explained the 'elevator game' to the camera propped up on a dresser. We were allowed to explore the 10the floor all night and the lounge. Then... "Colby, seriously?!" I said frustrated. He pulled a card out of his wallet. "Oh that's a Target card." And chuckled. I sighed. "So, we've already locked ourselves out of our room. I followed them to a creepy staircase that was very long; it spiraled many feet down from the top floor down to the ground floor. Colby talked about the black eyed children; every time someone mentions ghosts or anything paranormal along the lines, my eyes water up. I've never known why. Down a few floors, Jake looked into a mirror, " No matter what, when you look into a mirror you can't see the hallway." "That's how mirrors work." Sam laughed. "You okay Jake? You've been saying some really dumb shit tonight." I laughed too. He just smiled weakly. We snuck into the ball room but Corey immediately heard employees. "Did you hear something?" Sam asked Corey once we got back into the hallway. "There was somebody! Did you hear that?" He looked at the door behind Sam from which we just left. There was a tapping noise. Sam touched the doorknob and it stopped. He let go and it started again, and again when he touched it, it stopped. We moves on to explore more. We went back to the receptionist and she told us about gang activity here and murders, crazy people, suicides. There was a lot of creepy stuff. There was a security guard who caught 2 apparitions on camera. A lady drew on the wall in her own blood. This made me shudder. "I mean I was just holding someone's bloody head last week." She said casually. What the fuck?! I thought. She hot us a new key and we went off to explore the lounge on the eleventh floor, where the homeless person  drew in blood. Abs the staircase where a lady got vertigo and fell all the way to the first floor and died. They doubted that she "got vertigo" and fell. "Guys, vertigo is a real thing. Hell, I get it sometime but I haven't died yet." "They're giving excuses about peoples deaths." Sam said. I sighed and leaned again at the wall. "100,006 likes and we'll rent out the Presidential suite." Sam said. "That's very specific Sam." I laughed. Finally, the thing I've been waiting for; Jake and Colby ate the apples from the lounge's table. I shrug and take one too.
"What if we turn all the lights off just like Queen Mary, we sit down here and see if we can try to talk to something?" Everyone thought about of for a minute and agreed. Only a few of the lamps turned off so the room was still mostly lit. We talk silently for a minute, I sit next to Colby and lean on him sleepily. Until a worker comes through the door facing the camera behind a wall to my left. "Wait, wait, wait." Sam said quickly after she left. "Is that... the phone?" Everyone panicked again. "Wasn't the last thing The Black Dahlia was heard doing was use the telephone??" Sam stood up. Corey walked into the hall where the employee came into earlier. Everyone sat in silence again and after 3 minutes of this, there was a sound of glass clattering and stuff falling. We all jumped up; Sam ran into the hall from the other end to check it out but we all ran out back to the room. The pillow on the bed was moved and it smelled like cigarettes. Jake just sat down casually, Corey got paranoid. "Why's that swinging?" "May be we just slammed it hard." Colby said, "Yeah. We just slammed it. You're being paranoid.." He chuckled. "That's what I've been saying all night." I said in a low mutter. They all voiced their theories.

Suddenly the phone rang loudly. We all jumped and panicked even more. I stood next to Colby and grabbed his arm, accidentally squeezing it hard. He glanced over at me and I let go and put my arm down, wringing it on the hem of my shirt. He slipped his hand over and grasped mine, my cheeks flushed even through the fright. Corey stared at it and everyone encouraged him to answer it. "He asked 'hello?' like 4 times but there was nothing from the other line. He threw the phone down and Sam rushed to pack his things up. "Are we leaving?" Corey asked. "Yeah!!" Sam threw stuff into his xplr backpack. We left immediately. There was several noises on the way. "Just go! Just go!" Colby said and we booked it. "There wasn't that noise when someone's not there. It was perfectly silent. Someone was there, someone called it." "Corey- Corey let's just go. Just go." I looked around the hallway.
We sped off in the car. My eyes watery and mind hazy from what happened. Sam shouted put Jake and Corey and did the outro.

I threw my bag down on the chair in my room and dug my phone, charger, and ear buds out  of it. "That last part was hella freaky." Colby sighed and laid on my bed. "Even I was scared." "You're sleeping in here again?" "Problem?" He said. I laughed and shut my door. "I don't t even know how I can sleep now. Especially because its haunted here too." I kicked off my shoes and laid next to him. Eventually we both dozed off.

Sorry it's so long but I'll be posting a late Valentine's day chapter tmr >\\\<. Since this one took me all day 😴))
