yo sorry guys for the hella late update but I wasn't feeling it for a few months. thanks for the support and votes while I was gone. on with the cringe))
Soon after my -interaction- with Colby, the boys were staying to snake off and explore the lower section of the hotel room. I still stood there, checks rosy, slightly shaking from a rush of adrenaline. Colby brushed past me and discovered the door leading to the 10th floor hallway. I smiled slightly at Samuel, who also went towards the direction of the spare door. "Dude, its on the tenth and eleventh floor!" Colby said, kind of loudly in the hall. I got a little nervous because I thought he'd wake someone up in the rooms next to us. "Think abound that. The tenth and eleventh floors are the most haunted and thus room is on both of those floors, dude." Sam's voice was a lot quieter than Colby's. He closed the door and we started herding back to the stairwell. "Yo! There's an elevator!" Sam exclaimed. "No way!" That was the first thing I've said in a while. Corey opened the seemingly- closet door to reveal the there was an elevator. "Woah. That's awesome and all, but I'm so not getting in." I said smiling some. The redness in my cheeks had went down almost completely until I heard him address my voice- "Aw come on Kaitlyn! What're the odds that it will actually do something?" Colby said. A persuasive tone rolled off his tongue. But I shook my head. The guys continued to freak out over it, I just watched from the back of the group.
The four boys all crowded in and Colby tried one more time to get me to go inside. "No I didn't think there's enough room-" I pointed out. "You're just gonna stay out there in the darkness by yourself?" "Yes. I will just be waiting here until you guys get back from the future or the past or- Narnia. Wherever that thing takes you." I joked. He finally stopped trying to persuade me and they attempted to figure out how it worked. The boys were noisy trying to get the old machine to move. No one read the instructions, of course. "How many guys in their early twenties does it take to get an old elevator to work?" I said from the other side of the door, loud enough for them to hear. "Kaitlyn, how does this thing work??" Jake said. "The plaque says to get the fuck out." I said. "it also says that it's creepy out here and we should go back upstairs." I looked around at the dark rooms. Sam got out and read the instructions, "It says to turn on the lights switch on the left side." "It doesn't work." Colby said monotone, flipping it up and down repeatedly. After what seemed like ages of me standing alone in a dark entryway and the boys going back and forth about how to get it to work, we went upstairs. There were like 7 (I'm guessing) bedrooms. "Why would anyone need all this stuff?" I asked rhetorically. A while later we settled down and began to explain more things about the hotel. Everything from the black dahlia murder to drug lords and mafia using to hotel for their place of business, also that there is a secret door in the ballroom and they planned to sneak down there tonight.
On our way towards the ballroom and the bottom floor, Corey was getting random spam calls from someone (or something) with no caller ID. That's super strange, I thought. Of course he freaked out and the calls concerned everyone, even though some of us were skeptical that it had anything to do with what was going on. He kept getting them the whole way to the lobby. We couldn't get into the ballroom yet because of how early in the night it was. But we hung out in the lobby for a little while. "Taylor Swift did a music video here." Colby said, trying to impersonate the pop singer. "That's cool I guess. I don't listen to her much anymore." I said. "Unpopular opinion but I think she was a lot better when I was younger." I thought of her old albums; the good old days. We went everywhere including the gym. The guys took a picture in the big mirror and it was the cutest thing ever. I stood aside while Colby tried to use some of the equipment. Jake put his feet in the hand holes of one of the pieces and full on straddled the air. Fitness time ended with Jake falling out of the equipment and us rushing out.
We then made our way toward the basement and tried to debunk noises they heard in our last video. Behind an unlocked door, there was a brightly lit hallway and a corridor that led to the ballroom which was locked through the lobby. As Sam gave more back story about the paranormal happenings around the place, everyone's heart dropped when we heard a possible employee nearby. Again, we quickly tried to find a way out. Our posse ran into a eerily lit staircase down to a dead end door. When we turned around to find our way out of the labyrinth-like ballroom, all the lights were out and oy was pitch black beyond where we stood. "Hey guys, that's kinda freaky.." I said quietly. "What just happened?" Corey whispered beside me. "Yo, let's get the fuck out." Colby said, and I completely agreed. Not only did I hate the dark, but I've come to find out i also hate the dark in haunted hotels. We silently snuck out in an almost single-file line like scared children which was very amusing to me. We finally were back in the hallway where we entered from. Colby heard an employee coming do we ran up several flights of stairs (and we all hate cardio). We honestly sounded like a stampede of wildebeests who were running from a lion. They hod in the guy's bathroom (probably forgetting that I was the only girl) so, I hid in the women's until they said it was okay to come out.
All of us were bored after a while and tried to go to the second floor that was haunted by a nurse but the elevator wouldn't let us. Neither would the solid door that blocked off the hallway when we trekked all the way down the stairs to the second floor. Once again, we snuck into an employees-only area squeaky shoed and not at all stealthy. Followed by another escape from an unseen and unheard employee (except by Corey). We "snuck" out of the creakiest door I've ever heard in !y life and appeared in the lobby right next to a security guard so we made haste to get out of there asap.
