Arthur loathed how straining and challenging was to traverse the Grizzlies. The colossal amount of snow slowed considerably his steed, to the point where he had to go on foot so it was easier for the animal to advance. The cold seeped in through his thick boots and warm winter coat, making it harder for him to keep any warmth. Shivers constantly shook his body, and the coughing fits didn't help either on his way up the mountain side.
"Goddamnit, Charles..." he breathed out, voice below a whisper.
Arthur couldn't believe he had let Charles convince him to travel across the Heartlands, and Cumberland Forest, just to reach one of the highest peaks of the Grizzlies in search for what was just a rumour; rumour of a witch who dwelt up in those mountains, isolated from all civilization, and was believed she could cure any disease. Arthur Morgan didn't believe in magic or miracles, but he had promised Charles back at camp that he would go see this witch, although he truly believed it was a waste of time. But he knew he was dying, slowly; he had nothing to lose, but time.
Remembering his conversation with Charles, and how serious his friend was when speaking of said witch, Arthur allowed himself to think positively for once—if Charles was so sure that this so-called witch could cure him then he would have faith.
He tightened his coat around him, and glanced back at this horse. The animal was tired, and possibly freezing, as she was not used to that amount of snow and cold. Arthur patted her neck softly, silently encouraging her to keep going as he led the way forward, farther into the snowy mountain.
And out of the blue, much to his relief, a small wooden cabin appeared in the middle of the snow, protruding from the mountain side. Snow covered the roof and the sides of the structure, but the entrance was clear of obstacles. A second wooden construction was attached to the cabin, of smaller size. Arthur stared at the cabin, still finding it unbelievable how someone could actually live in a place like this.
He moved towards it, hesitantly stood by the door. He looked at his steed, and earned a small huff from the brown animal as if she was encouraging him. Sighing, he glanced back at the door, his hand already reaching up to knock on it. A silent gasp escaped his mouth as instead of the door, a woman stood there quietly, staring at him expectantly.
