CRYSTAL
I knew Rachel would be mad about me just upping and leaving my house last night without a word to her. But I didn't realise just how mad she would be until now with her arms crossed and her glaring at me.
"Well, are you going to explain yourself?" She says when I don't say anything.
"I don't know what you want me to say," I finally say. Then shrug. "It's not like I did anything wrong."
She nods at me. "No that's true I admit you didn't do anything wrong. But you did just up and leave last night without a word to your sister or me who's your best friend." She points out.
"It's not like I had a choice with how unfair my mother was for being so dismissive of Justin and then kicking him out," I say agreeing with her. Then sigh and shake my head. "There was just no way I was going to stay there to continue my party when everything was far from ok and the one person I wanted there couldn't be there."
She frowns. "That bad was it?"
I nod and sigh. "Oh, Rachel you have no idea," I say with a frown. "It was worse than bad."
She frowns again. "I'm sorry your plan to telling your mother about being back with Justin went so horribly," she says. Then shakes her head. "But that still doesn't give you the excuse to just up and leave without a word. You really had me and your sister worried and for a spilt second we were going to call the police. But your mother stopped us when she told us what happened up in your bedroom which we overheard by the way.
"You were seriously going to call the police?" I ask stunned.
She nods. "Yes. Why are you so shocked?"
"Because I just find it surprisingly," I say still shocked that they were going to call the police. "You you should've known I was with Justin." I add.
"How could've we," she says. "Sure, I knew Justin was upstairs but I saw him leave a couple of minutes before you left." She points out. "And your sister didn't know he was there and out of everyone she was very worried when you just left without a word and we couldn't find you or get in touch of you."
"My sister worried about me, are you sure?" I ask her finding it hard to believe after the silent treatment she gave to me. "Because the whole-time last night she could barely look me in the eye or more so even speak a word to me."
"Yeah but you must know deep down that she really cares about you," she says. "She was a mess and was blaming herself." She pauses and I can see she's unsure with whatever she wants to say next. She places her hands on my shoulder and looks at me and sighs before she says whatever she was struggling to say. "Look I love you babe and I know to not get in the middle of your fam...."
"Then don't." I interrupt.
She nods in agreement. "In a normal situation I would but this fight with your sister has gone on too long," she says. "You really need to talk to her and make amends before she goes back home to Hawaii and believe me if you don't and continue being stubborn. You will regret it."
"You don't think I've tried but she's just being as stubborn as me," I say. "I want nothing more to put this whole thing behind me but she's not making it easy for me."
"I think this time will be different," she says. "You are both on the same page now."
"Ok I guess I will organise something today and see if I can catch up with her at lunch and see what happens from there," I say. Then smile at her. "Thanks Rach and again I'm so sorry for worrying you. That wasn't my intention I just needed to get out of there and get some space away from my mother."
