"That'll be $12 Miss."
I open my wallet only to realize I'm out of money.
"Shit." I mutter to myself. I run my hands through my hair and take a deep breath.
"Excuse me Miss?" A tap on my shoulder directs my attention to the boy behind me in line. He looks about 18, my age. Tall, blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes, and a lip ring. He hands me a 20 dollar bill, snapping me back into reality.
"Oh, thanks." I say and pay the lady at the counter. She smiles and I grab my several packs of gum and mints. Without turning back to see the boy once more, I start pacing out to the parking lot.
"Hey wait up!" A voice calls my way. I snap my head back to see him chasing after me.
This time I actually stop and let him catch up.
"What do you want?" I snap at him.
"Just wanted to say hi. I'm Luke." He reaches out his hand for me to shake.
Being a polite person, I shake it in return.
"Well Luke thank you for buying this for me but I should be on my way now." I quickly turn away and find my car, before he even has a chance to respond.
I speed back to my house in my red Porsche with the radio cranking ACDC music. My blonde locks blow in the wind as I drive along the road.
About 5 miles from my home, my car starts to make noises, and eventfully stops all together. I pull over to the shoulder and groan before hitting my head on the steering wheel.
I open my door and get out of the car, popping the hood while I'm at it. I have no idea what's wrong though because I am not a big car person.
I guess I was busy swearing or groaning because I didn't even notice the black Ferrari pull up behind me.
A familiar blonde lad gets out and walks my way.
"What a small world." He smirks at me.
"Ahh Lucas, what could you possibly want now?" I roll my eyes at the stranger who has been incredibly too friendly with me today.
"Well I see your car broke down."
"No shit Sherlock."
"Do you want a ride home while we wait for someone to come get your car?"
"Fine. But, we, are not waiting. I am. As much as I appreciate your help, this is my problem."
He raises his hands in defense and laughs at my attitude. Why is this happening to me?
I follow him back to his ride and climb in the passenger seat. Then I type in my address on his GPS.
"You know you never told me your name." He points out. I figured he'd ask sooner or later.
"Scarlett."
"Scarlett what?"
"Scarlett Marie Davidson, happy?"
"Yes." He grins and the car falls back to silence.
"What's your full name?" I try to make small talk, only because the silence is awkward and excruciating.
"Lucas Robert Hemmings."
"Well Lucas Robert Hemmings, thank you for the ride, and buying my stuff however I am home now and we should part our own ways."
"Yeah uhh here you go. Can I have your number?" He rubs the back of his head.
"Give me your phone." I demand and take his phone. After I enter my contact in and text myself, I toss it back into his lap and he waves before zooming away. I sigh and grab my keys to go inside.
Only 10 minutes later my phone buzzes.
Hey Scarlett!
If this boy thinks he is getting any closer to me than he already is, he is poorly mistaken. I'm not ready for a new friend.
And I sure as hell don't think he will like me too much once he gets to know me.
I don't think, I know he won't like me.
That's just how my life works.
A/N- new story! This one is a Luke story! Hope you enjoy!
