Suddenly I hear a soft knock on my door.
"Come in." I say. It's my dad.
"Hey honey. Got some room for your old man up there?" I scooch over so he lays down next to me.
"What's up? How's work going?"
"Going good. We got some pretty exciting stuff coming up. Had some good surgeries. But tell me about yourself. How's college? How is the dance squad? You guys are working hard already?"
"It's great. Teachers are really nice. And yea we're gonna perform at the kick off next week already so that's gonna be huge. We're basically practicing every day of week until the game. But it's really fun and I already made some friends."
"That is awesome news honey. Pops will be losing his shit of you tell him." Pops is my grandpa. Well not really blood related but he's been with my grandma (moms side) ever since I was 1 so I grew up with him and we have a really close relationship. He's a big donator for UofM (aka he has a fountain in the big house (football stadium) with his own name on it). He also has had season tickets for decades and besides that he even was the QB for Michigan whenever he attended college. So yea Pops is pretty much the coolest grandpa ever.
"Don't tell him. I wanna see if he'll recognize me on the field or maybe Gigi." Gigi is my grandma.
"Oh they better. But you can bet I'll be there watching you."
"You'd be there anyway dad." We always watch all of the home games. Thanks to Pops we all are members of the golf club and they own the vip boxes up in the stadium. So whenever you get in you get escorted to a private elevator and people greet us by name. Jup we're that fancy. But actually Isaac and I just love watching the games and that's why my parents go with us. Okay my mom is a huge football fan as well my dad is more like average.
"Still I can't wait to see my little girl perform in front of thousands of people."
"Ugh don't remind me dad."
"What don't chicken out honey. You're a white. Whites don't quit!"
"Don't worry I won't. It's just... I don't know. Kinda scary?"
"But there is nothing you need to scared of. You're talented and you absolutely know what you're doing! So just don't overthink it but go with the flow... or like the beat." Okay that was cringy. "What are we watching tonight?"
"Gossip girl. Rewatching it."
"Awesome I still don't know who A is."
"Daaaad you're talking about pll. This is gossip girl."
"Oh shit but isn't Georgina gossip girl?"
"Oh nah that's old news she was it for a little bit but we gotta figure out who the real gossip girl is."
"And who is it?"
"Well I'm not gonna spoil you?!"
"Okok. Start it." So dad and I watch gg together and somewhat through the second episode I fall asleep thanks to the long day. I can't wait for Wednesday and Thursday: long ass days of school and practice, not to mention the extra practice with Vio and Maddy.
"Alright so we're gonna do a choreography to the song fever by Beyoncé." We're currently all at the club in my dancing room and warming up. "I thought we could kinda make it easier for us. So we're gonna use a couple steps from the current kick off choreo aaaaand we're gonna mix it up with some of the older ones and some of my ideas. You down?" Maddy gives us a sheepish smile.
"Let's do this Shit." And so we do. Within the next 2 hours we work non stop. We create our own choreo spice it up with different ideas until we all agree with it.
