"So what happened between the two of you last night?" Violet asks me as we're tanning by the pool. We're currently laying on the beach daybeds in the backyard by the pool. The weather is gorgeous outside and so we all decided to have a chill day by the pool just swimming and tanning.

"Huh?" I ask confused and she nods her head towards where Zane is standing.

"Oh." So what happened last night was that: he confesses his love, kisses me, I am absolutely totally overwhelmed and don't know what to do so I do nothing and well he stopped realized it and told me he was sorry, he'd give me all the time and space I'd need and then he left. I think I stood there for another 5 minutes before I headed home. I mean come on the guy I fell in love with tells me I'm a hoe and five minutes later he confesses his love and kisses me? Now don't tell me that this is not a set up? Legit my brain shut down and i didn't know what to do so instead I stood there like a fucking fish in an aquarium.

"Yea oh so what happened? I heard you coming back last night and sorry but you looked like shit. Didn't want to say anything but then I saw him this morning and he didn't look any better so I figured there must have happened something so spill the beans." She turns around on her back and closes her eyes.

"Uh nothing to worry about. We just sorta got into an argument but I think everything's okay now."

I mean how could a guy as perfect as Zane Donovan black possibly have any feelings for me, let alone be in love with me. Yeah I know exactly what you're thinking nobody's perfect Maya, but come on his looks at least are. He looks like a freaking god standing standing there a couple feet away from me, only wearing his swim trunks showing off his perfect toned, tanned, muscular body. His gorgeous jawline, the cheekbones and those green eyes, that captivate me every single time just like right now. Wait, fuck he's looking at me. I instantly look down, covering my red face with my hair.
"You have some drool right there honey." Maddy point at my mouth as she sits down next to me, looking terribly happy.

"Eh. Why are you so happy?" I ignore her because comment and Violet opens her eyes to glance at her.

"Why not? It's a beautiful day, we're all here together. Enjoying life while we're young. Having so much fun. I mean are you guys never appreciating that for some reason all of us were born the same time, living the same era as Beyoncé?"

"You just were boned right?" V asks her.

"What no?"

"You smoked some weed then?"

"Jeez Ashley would kill me. Instant death."

"Yea she totally was boned." I agree with Violet as Maddy blushes terribly while we just burst out in laughter.

"Honestly you guys are just jealous." She rolls her eyes.

"Oh no trust me there's nothing to be jealous about. My man is doing me good. Keeping me entertained all day and night." V winks at her and I just roll my eyes before I turn around to tan my back. Someone turned on the music and so we all just lay there in the sun quietly for a while enjoying the time.

"Hey we should have some girls time before we head back home. How about a mani and pedi?" Maddy asks us after a while though. My back is starting to get really warm so I turn around and look at her. The boys are all in the pool by now throwing a football around.

"Sure I'm down" V snaps me out of my daze. I should really get the hang of that. I'm wasting half of my life daydreaming and the other half actually dreaming because I'm asleep. Yea sad life I know.

"Yeah sounds good." I agree.

I could definitely need some distraction to get last night out of my head, for at least a little while. So we all pull on our coverups, the girls tell their boys about it while I just head back inside to get a glass of water. Inside, of course karma is on my side, Zane is standing in the kitchen he looks up at me as soon as I head in what makes me swallow hard. He opens his mouth about to say something but he just closes it and stands there.
