Naramdaman ko ang mga braso na nakapulupot sa aking buong katawan. I slowly opened my eyes only to find out that Jules is carrying me papunta sa kwarto ko. Right, I took a nap in the couch. Could It still be called a nap?
I smelled alcohol. Did he go out for a drink? Was he that upset? Pero nangibabaw talaga ang antok kaya napapikit akong muli. The next thing I knew, nasa kama na ako. I felt his hand caressed my faced. He put some strands of my hair at the back of my ears.
I looked at him. He was looking at me, too. Is this a dream?
"Kumain ka na?"
Muli akong napapikit sa antok. Sa pagod na rin siguro sa buong araw na paglilinis kaya grabe ang tama ng antok sa akin.
Naramdaman ko ang sakit sa aking ilong. Even the Jules in my dreams is rude.
"Mean Brat!" Still, I didn't open my eyes. Baka kapag binuksan ko ang mga mata ko, mawala si Jules. Kahit suplado siya pati sa panaginip, atleast I got to hear his voice. Baka bukas, hindi niya na ako kausapin or worse, baka paalisin niya na ako dito sa condo niya dahil galit siya sa akin.
But I wonder what he said today was real? That he like me?
The next morning, I woke up with the sound of my phone ringing. It was an alarm. I set an alarm right after I heard the news that I got accepted at Verano Corp. Di bale nang makulang ang tulog basta wag lang ma late sa unang araw ng trabaho. That'll be a major turn off. Bumangon na ako at naligo na kaagad. My day would be productive if I would take a bath first thing in the morning. It's a tip, by the way.
I stared at the mirror as I brush my hair. Lalabas na ba ako? Im hungry. Paano kung nasa labas si Jules? What would I say? Should I say sorry?
"Jules? Im sorry. Fine, I'll accept your feelings na. Tayo na ba?"
I shooked my head. No! No! No! Scratch that! That'll be stupid.
"Jules. Im sorry. Let's just forget yesterday."
Uhhh no! I can't forget what happened yesterday. I would only lie if I would say that. I may be an irrational and impulsive brat but Im not a liar. I hate liars.
I sighed in defeat. There's no way I'd be calm today. Just act the usual, Aly. I heaved a sigh and went straight to the door. I just wish Jules went to their office today.
Abot abot ang tahip ng aking puso ng pinihit ko na ang door knob pabukas. There's no turning back, Aly.
Nang makitang walang tao sa kitchen ay halos magsisigaw ako sa tuwa. Nilakad ko ang kitchen.
When I entered the kitchen, para na naman akong pinagsakluban ng langit at lupa. You know that feeling when you're already happy but then something upsetting will happen. Paang isang bata na binigyan ng kendi pero binawi rin naman nang mahawakan.
Awtomatiko akong napatalikod. Halos takbuhin ko ang distansya ng kusina at nang kwarto.
"Where are you going?" ani Jules na tumayo na mula sa pagsa-squat. Mukhang inaayos nito ang tubo ng tubig sa ilalim ng lababo. Why didn't I see him? Napahinto ako sa pagtungo ng kwarto.
