Falling Down Under

Chapter 6.

7.00 creeped up on them quicker than expected. As the girls rumaged around their rooms for make up, hair extensions, perfumes and other beauty products, Shauna quickly phoned up the local Taxi firm.

"Hello, can we have a taxi sent out for around 8pm please? The address is 4 Dannerston House, Lahme Drive." Shauna replied while placing down the reciever.

"Ohmygod i forgot we were staying on LAHME drive!!! aaah thats so cool!" Tara squealed, while adding waves to her hair, and applying some eyeliner.

Lucie sat on the edge of the armchair, readily applying a vast amount of fake tan while Amy finished curling her long hair. Lucie's tall slender frame was any girl's dream which meant she looked great in anything. Many people had complimented her looks and she had even been offered a modelling contract but had turned it down because of this trip to Australia. After she had finished with the tan she handed the bottle over to Tara and started to apply her make-up and get into her red ress and black wedges.

Shauna, came out the shower 15 minutes later, fully dressed and almost unrecogniseable. Her long dark brown hair hung in neat waves around her face, and her dip-hemmed dress revealed her slender tan legs. The coral pink heels she had got went surprisingly well with the dress and her matching jewellery topped off the outfit. She sat down with a magazine until the other girls were ready. Tara strutted her way down the stairs and into the lviving room, twirling in her purple dress as she went. Luckily the dress went really well with her lace heels and reddy-brown hair. She wore some silver jewellery and a necklace with a small plus sign on it. Her medium hair was curled and tied back with a silver grip adding a shine to her tan face and blue eyes.

Amy was last to be ready. She couldn't wait to get on her emerald green dress and was equally impressed when she realised how well it suited her. She posed in front of the full size mirror and beamed with delight at how different and stunning she looked. "Oh my god girls you all look so pretty!" Lucie complimented while checking her hair again. Puling out her Blackberry, the four girls all posed for a picture, then grabbed their bags as the taxi drew up outside the door.

"Let's go PAARTAAAY!" Tara yelled as they climbed into the taxi and paid the fayre.

The darkness was erupted with a million bright lights spinning around the large room. Music blared from speakers making it impossible to hear, hundreds of young teens stood in tight groups drinking, laughing and having a good time. Lucie went off to the bar to buy some soft drinks - and probabaly find some hot guys to talk to aswell. the music quickly changed beat and the familar, british voices of 'One Direction' started to blast its way around the room, escalating the cheers from the young teenage girls. Tara grabbed Amy into the crowds to dance leaving Shauna standing awkwardly in the corner of the room. 

"Arn't you going to dance to this?" A boy asked while approaching Shauna from the left.

"Oh, um I'm not really into One Direction much haha" She replied, blushing at how awkward that had come out. The dark lighting where she stood made it almost impossible to make out the figure standing next to her as he took a swig from a bottle he was holding.

"Aw, I suppose there not everyone's taste!" He replied calmy. Shauna stood still, she could tell he was looking at her but talking to boys was one of her weaknesses. "By the way you look really pretty, that dress really suits you." Breaking the silence she could tell he was trying to make conversation. relaxing a little Shauna turned to face him.

"Aw thankyou, that's really sweet, your not too bad yourself." She replied teasingly. Suddenly she stopped, realising who this 'boy' was. His short messy curls, Melbourne accent and the glint of his lip peircing couldn't be mistaken.

"I know this sounds really stupid but your Luke Brooks right?" She asked eagerly, trying to compress her inner 'fangirl' mode.

"Haha you got it Slu+!" He answered with a goofy grin on his face.

Shauna couldnt stop smiling, she asked question after question and before they knew it both Shauna and Luke were deep in conversation about each other laughing and joking together. Shauna listened to every word he had to say intently and realised how attracted she was feeling towards him. He stood leaned against the wall in a pair of denim jeans and a checked shirt with the top button undone. He also had a pair of blue Vans on as well.

"Shauna can I get you a drink?" He asked with a cute smile on his face.

"uh huh sure, um i'll have anything" She replied not wanting to let on about her little knowledge of alcoholic drinks. 

"Haha ok then" he replied while shoving his way through the crowds towards the bar.

Slumping against the side of the wall Shauna sighed deeply. She couldnt believe she had just spent the last 25 minutes having a proper conversation with Luke Brooks and now he was offering to buy her a drink. 

"Shauna are you ok?" A voice asked, waking her from her trance.

"Ohmygod, don't creep up on me like that Tara! And yes I'm fine, but you'll never guess what!" Shauna answered desperate to tell Tara the news.

"Um...what?" Tara asked confused, woundering if Shauna had been on the drink.

"I just met Luke Brooks and he's off buying me a drink right now!" Shauna remarked.

"Very funny Shauna, maybe you should stop being so antisocial and join in the dancing." Tara accused, while heading back in the crowds to dance to LMFAO.

Excuse me? Shauna thought to herself as Luke Reappeared with two bottles of Lagar.

"Here we are, haha keep it hidden mind, you might get kicked out if your caught." He warned while handing her the bottle. Shauna felt a sudden urge as his hand touched hers. Suddenly she grabbed it and dragged him into the crowds. 

"omg this song is imense lets dancee!" She laughed as Luke eagerly took up her offer.

"Alright then, steady on haha, wow you can move!" He laughed while spinning Shauna and jumping about like an idiot. 

"It appears you have some style Luke Brooks!" The sarcasm sent them both into fits of childish giggles. Suddenly Luke pulled Shauna closer, his breath stroked her face. They stared intently into each others eyes for what seemed like an eternity, when Luke's lips began to part as he slowly leaned in. Shauna, realising what was happening, closed her eyes and let his lips caress her own. The world become a blur, the lights died out and the beats of the music became slower as each delicate second of this passionate moment, became stronger.
