Chapter 19

Vegeta's P.O.V

Once I get over to the group, I notice everyone looking at me funny. Crossing my arms, I glare at them.

"What are you all looking at?" I spat.

That idiot Kakarot just laughs sheepishly.

"Sorry about that, Vegeta. We're all just curious as to why you got in Yuri's face."

I glare at him and scoff.

"That's none of your business."

He pouts like a little kid at that.

"Aw, come on Vegeta!"

"No."

"Darn it."

The others laugh at Goku's reaction. I look to see Genesis looking at me curiously. I give her a confused look. Bulma notices this and coughs loudly, drawing everyone's attention.

"Come on guys, let's go get some stuff for a party."

Everyone starts to leave, but Bulma says something to Genesis, and she just nods and watches everyone go inside. I go over to Genesis, my curiosity now piqued.

"What's wrong, Genesis?"

She looks up at me with a frown, then sighs.

"I'm just wondering what happened between you and Yuri."

I sigh. I don't want to tell her what the conversation was about since it was about her. Blushing and chuckling awkwardly, I scratch the back of my neck.

"It was nothing."

"Don't lie to me!" She shouts, catching me off guard. Her face screwed up in anger, her eyes blazing with frustration. My eyes widen at this new side to her. Realizing she just shouted at me, her anger melts away as tears start to prick her eyes.

"I'm so sorry, Vegeta! I didn't mean to yell at you. It's just, people have lied to me a lot, and I hate it. I just get so angry when someone lies to me."

"It's all right. Nothing to cry about. It's understandable to hate lies. And I'm sorry that you've been lied to a lot."

Smiling at me with appreciation, her eyes sparkle with gratitude. Heat spreads throughout my face seeing her look at me like that.

"So what were you guys talking about?"

I sigh. This'll be awkward.

"You."

Surprise obvious on her face, her eyes widen with shock.

"M-me?"

I just nod, too embarrassed to speak.

"W-why were you guys talking about me?"

"He told me that I wasn't good enough for you, that you have feelings for me, and that I better not lead you on."

"He said what?!" She yelped. She turns 10 different shades of red. I start to go red as a tomato. Her gaze goes to her feet, too embarrassed to look me in the eye. Remembering what she said before mine and Yuri's talk, I smile as an idea comes to mind.

"Hey Genesis, do you still want to go swimming?"

She looks up at me, a smile on her lips. Her eyes sparkle with excitement.

"Well what are we waiting for? Lets go!"

She grabs my hand starts running, dragging me inside Capsule Corp.
