A/N: Hello, lovely readers, sorry for the delay! Life has been a little bumpy lately. Thank you for all the votes and comments, they mean so much to me! I hope you enjoy this chapter. Please let me know what you think!
Removing the IV from Andreas left arm, the nurse discarded the tubing and removed her gloves. The black dry-erase marker squeaked as her hand swiftly scribbled updates on the information board on the wall with the time and date as well as who Andrea would have available on her healthcare team today.
"All finished with breakfast, Mrs. Leto? I can clear your tray for you." The blonde offered.
Katherine noticed her daughter hadn't heard a word the nurse said. Nodding her head in approval, she cleared the tray and exited the room.
"Andrea, snap out of it. The doctor should be here soon and if you keep zoning out like that she will make you stay another day."
"You're unbelievable, you know that? If being here is an inconvenience to you leave! My husband managed to leave me, so surely it's not too great a feat!"
Bringing her hand to her mouth in shock, Katherine listened to her daughters' outburst. She feared this new attitude was here to stay. Even though they disagreed on a lot of things, the old Andrea would never speak to her that way. The young woman that sat before her now had not even shed a tear or any sign of regret for what she said.
Jared stopped in the hallway just outside the door after hearing the commotion from his wife's room. His heart fell to his stomach hearing how upset she was. He knew he was going to have to work very hard to gain her forgiveness.
Lifting the bouquet of multicolored tulips into the air, he rounded the doorway, stepping into the room. Taken aback by Andrea's disheveled beauty, Jared paused at the door. Her long unruly hair atop her head in a messy bun. Neither of the women heard him enter so he walked to the bedside table and sat the change of clothes he'd brought down.
Hearing the ruffle of the bag hitting the table Andrea turned her head. Looking him over for a moment before glaring at him.
"Oh, that's rich." She scoffed, "It seems you think you can buy a bouquet of my favorite flowers after leaving me yesterday and all is ok? Well, it isn't! So you can shove them up your ass!"
Jared bit his lip, swallowing his snarky reply because he didn't want to make it worse, or to argue in front of his mother in law.
Katherine made eye contact with him. Noticing his eyes shifted from the typical crystal clear blue to a stormy grey. Deciding this was a great time to excuse herself, she stood, quickly exiting the room and pulling the door closed behind her.
When Andrea refused to take the tulips from his outstretched hand, Jared gently put the flowers on to the table.
"I didn't bring them to make anything ok. I know you love them, and I love you. That's why I bought them.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, intertwining his right hand into her left, Jared leaned forward, pushing his lips to hers. Pulling her hand from his, Andrea placed her hand on his chest, pushing him away with all she had.
"You can't just keep kissing me either, Jared! It's weird. I don't know you!" Crossing her arms over her chest and pouting.
"Stop trying to pick a fight with me! It's not going to work."
"Why? Because we're in public and it's bad for your reputation? Is that it, Mr. Rockstar?"
"Don't be a brat." Jared seethed.
