Ahn Se won's POV.

We were walking fast through the palace halls and it was already dark. I started to regret why i agreed to follow him when i could not guess what was on his mind and i couldn't trust him either.
I could tell through our journey he was angry about something but he was trying to keep his emotions under control.

"Where are we going?" I asked carrying my skirts, but it fell on deaf ears once again.
He made his way towards the interrogation hall and i knew then where we were heading to.
'Joon woo'
Because of the few times i sneaked here to see him i know the way to the dungeons of the palace, i just pray something hasn't happened to him.

"Your highness"the guards said with a bow.

"I am here to see the lone prisoner, make way"
They shifted.
"Follow me"he said at the door.
I lifted my head to scan the dark room and i spotted Joon woo at the corner of the large room.
He didn't shift from his position he just kept his head down his hair covering most part of his face.
"Stand up"
He lifted his head to look from me to the prince.

"What is going on your highness?" I asked.

"I thought of the perfect person to pay for your crimes" he unsheathed the sword on his belt.
'My crimes?'

"What are you talking about?"
"Were you not satisfied for cutting my arm open, do you know what i went through because of you?"
"Now what is all this about?"
I really don't have the time and energy for this child's play.

"Satisfied?"he laughed.
"I wasn't satisfied the last time and now that she is gone because of you, i don't know of anything that could satisfy me"

"Gone? Gone to where?"

"Where? The same place your lover here will be going in a short while, so that you suffer the pain i will bear for the rest of my life"
His sword came down to his neck.
I hurried to stand in between them because i am not sure anymore of what he is capable of and he doesn't seem to be in the right state of mind.

"Your highness"
'Is she dead? How pleasant would that be, but does he think i killed her?'
"I have nothing to do with it this time"
"Please step back, i really have nothing to do with it"i pleaded.

"If you hadn't tried to end her the first time she wouldn't have died from a wound infection"
"Move" he pushed me down.
He raised the sword to strike and i could hear my heartbeat on my feet, i scurried up to push him away but i was too late.
I heard Joon woo wince from the cut across his collar bone.
The prince stumbled to the side.

"Joon woo"i cried kneeling beside him.
"Why are doing this to him?"
"He has nothing to do with this"
"As you said, if it is a crime committed i will pay it myself"
"I will lay down my own life if i must, so..please don't"

"How shameful of you to ask, like you have ever given me a choice"
"Move"
I extended my arms to cover him.

"You can't"
I heard Joon woo cough.
"Joon woo are you okay?"
He pressed the wound with his hand.
I removed my upper top to press on his wound.
He coughed heavily.
'He seems to be in a lot of pain already'
"Do you think you will be any different than i?i that you loathe so much, we will end up to be no different"
"I wanted to end her life because of you, she didn't wrong me directly"
"My Joon woo didn't wrong you directly too"

"So you are saying i should have ended his life the first day i learnt about your feelings for him since loving someone was a crime deserving death"
"Even though you deceive yourself in thinking you are capable of being affectionate towards anyone"
He might be right i was never affectionate towards anything or anyone except Joon woo.

"Do you really not know?"
"I framed her for attacking the king's chamber for my amusement but the reason i had to go to that length was because of how you stripped me of my own dignity in front of the whole nation and you made a joke of our marriage, how do you expect me to raise my head again after you have made it clear in court how much she means to you by protecting her with your own life"
"I Ahn Se won replaced by a low life"
'Such humiliation'
"It was then i decided that she and i can not live under the same sky"

"You better shut your mouth" he threatened.

"Se won" he called covering his mouth with another cough.
'What is wrong with him?'

"Joon woo are you sick? What is wrong?"
He brought his hand down weakly and i saw blood on his palm.
My eyes went wide.
"Joon woo, what is wrong, what is that?"
"Why are you.."

"Se won"
"I.."

"What is wrong with him?"the prince asked.
Interesting indeed, coming from someone who was bent on killing him a few minutes ago.

I brushed his hair away from his face and tucked it behind his ear.
His face..his lips looked darker than usual and his eyelids had a dark shade to them.

"Poison"the Prince stated.
"He took.."

"What do you mean by poison, why would he take poison?" I flared up, my voice trembling.

"Se won"
He took my hand.
"I want you to promise me something, promise me you won't dig into this"
My heart started beating so fast.
"Just move on with your life and forget everything, please"

"What are you saying about something this small, i will bring a healer, you will be fine, you have to be"
The prince turned slowly to exit.

"Se won"
"Do you know what i was concerned for the most while i was here? That i left you to the world with no one to protect you, not knowing i might leave you here forever"
"That hurts me more than anything"

'Do you know how empty it felt these past few months? It was hard to get use to not having you on my room roof or my door or when i walk through the market lanes, as always you were everywhere'
I felt tears streaming down my cheeks.

"You spoke well of me"
He smiled weakly.
"But for me even a life time is not enough for me to express what you mean to me, Agasshi (young miss)"

"Say no more"
"This isn't Good bye, it can't be, stay here i will call for help"
He held more firmly to my hand.

"Do you know why i supported you in acquiring the throne? I thought after that you will finally be at peace with yourself, it has been my wish for you to this day, so..cough.. don't dig into this..."
What is there to dig or think about when it has to be Yeon woo, and she will definitely get what is coming for her.
"..promise.. cough..me"
He is coughing more blood, he needs help.

"Let's talk about that later"
"For now i have to.."

"I am sleepy"
I stopped in my tracks and swallowed nervously.
"I am really sleepy"
He shifted slowly from the wall to lay on my folded legs.
I helped him press my top on his wound.
I have never seen him so weak.
"You used to smile so brightly, should your tears be the last thing i see?"

"Woo woo"
I sobbed closing my eyes.

"I told you i didn't..like ..that nickn..ame"
His eyes were closing slowly.

"Joon woo"
I started panicking.
"Stay with me"
I shook him lightly.

"I am.."
I heard him whisper.
"Glad you..came"
His hand went limp beside him.

"Joon woo"
I shook him vigorously.
"Joon woo open your eyes, please"
I held him close.
"Joon woo"
"Is anyone out there?"i shouted my lungs out.
"Is anyone out there?"
"Joon woo wake up"
"You always respond, why aren't you responding?"
"Why are you like this?"
My whole body jolted and it became hard to breath.
I gasped and struggled for breath.
I held my head as dizziness overtook me and i was welcomed to an unknown darkness.
