I had to wait impatiently to get the palace pass, i dressed as a maid, tied a dagger to my thigh and set out for the only thing keeping me sane for the past few days.
Consort Yeon woo's POV.
The maids came in to set the table for lunch and after tasting each food they turned in line to step out but one of them was fixed to her position, with her head bowed deeply.
"Can i have a word with your highness?"she asked with a low tone.
'A word?'
'How rude of her'
"You.."
Then she lifted her head.
"You are.."
'Se won', i haven't seen her more than once but it is not a face i could ever forget, i wonder what took her so long but is a relieve the princess isn't here today.
"It was about time we met, don't you think"
"You shouldn't be so glad to see me"
She stared at me with blood thirsty eyes.
"It was hard to get to you, i should have thought of this sooner"
"Yes, you should have, you should have come to me first than hurt an innocent person for it"
"You don't know, do you?"
"He made the choice to die in your stead, even though it offends me, it is the reason you are still breathing this heaven given air"

She walked to where i was in fury.
"Did you think you will push me to the brink of death and worst make my princess suffer for the rest of her life and i will just let you be? His Majesty can do that but i can never"
"And you can shamelessly come here, don't tell me you feel wronged?"
"Shut your mouth!"
She grabbed the color of my dress.
I held her hand in place.
"If not for my promise to that poor Joon woo you had the ill fate of loving someone like you, i would have put you to death today"
She raised her hand to hit me but i blocked her with my forearm.
'Can i be more patient?'
"Is this all you have got?"I pushed.
"I know what you are trying to do, you want me to be caught in act, don't you?"
"You know well enough that his Majesty can not execute me for treason, remember, i have family"
'Since he can't execute Chin mae along side her she thinks she will be safe'

I stood up from my stool as she extended her hand to pick one of the ceramics, breaking it in half at the edge of the table.
'What is she doing?'
"Your highness?"one of the maids said to ask if everything was okay.
"It is alright"i replied.
we stared at each other, deciding on the next move to take, then she smiled and unfolded her sleeve.
"You are right, if i just end you it won't be to my advantage, i have thought of a way to make you loose the crown, your face and everyone's trust"
Then she slit her wrist in one swift.
"Help me, please help me" she cried throwing the shard of ceramic at my skirt and it fell with a low thud.
"You are mad!"
"You are really mad"
I kicked the piece of ceramic away as soon as the door shifted.
"Your highness?"
"Please save me"she pleaded with them, who were still standing to analyse the scene.
I stretched my arms to hold her, thick blood was gushing out from her wound.
"Why are you still standing there, call a physician now"
"Don't worry you will be alright" i said with pretentious worry.
She sent me a cold glare from the side of her eyes.
'Let's see whose lie is more believable'
"No, please take me away from her, please"
One of the guards came in.
"Your highness, i think it would be better to carry her" he said with a curt bow.
"Please let me do it"
"Alright"
'But i don't know if her grace will let you lay a finger on her'

"Your highness, i think what we should be worried about is her father, being the last born and the only female.."Eun bi said.
"Her brothers too" i added.
"Is she still unconscious?"
"Yes"
'That witch, who knew she was capable of ending her life'
"His Majesty is entering"they announced fast.

"Excuse me" she said and walked to bow to the floor until he passed.
"Greetings your Majesty" i stood with a deep bow.
"Please have a seat"
"What is this that i hear of my lady?"
"Se won came to my chamber earlier"
"After a short argument.."
"Did she really do that to herself?"
'What?does he suspect me?"
"Yes, to implicate me"
"Does this mean Joon woo's death was your doing?"
"She thinks so"
"My lady"
"I have nothing to do with it"
"You went against my judgement and took the law into your hands"
'He thinks what i did was wrong because he knows nothing of what i have suffered'
"Do you not think of the princess"
"Your Majesty, it really has nothing to do with me" i stated calmly without raising my head.
"Will you still ask for the crown when you can crush the weak and innocent on a whim?"
"Innocent?" I blurted.
"Yes, Joon woo was humbly accepting and paying for his crime"
'He is saying i should do the same? Not in a million years.
Can he even punish the mother of his only child?what will the world think of it, i believe it is an empty threat'
"Your Majesty should investigate on the issue, i also believe no crime should go unpunished"
"Yes, at least not under my rule my lady"
