You readers may be surprised to read this but during the next few weeks, Raymond and I became inseparable friends.
I know right.
It's unbelievable!
But I realised that we both had a lot in common and just like Jaz and Kally, Ray was reliable and trustworthy.
So I began to trust him with other things like my secrets.
He became my bag pack.
Ray is a very silly and carefree person but one thing you readers didn't know was that he was a Straight-A student.
You guys are shocked, right?
I was too when I first heard about it.
You just take a look at this...
"Raymond E McCarthy, what is this nonsense!?", the English teacher, Miss Darla asked angrily waving Jason's essay sheet around.
"It's an essay, ma'am", Ray replied innocently.
"How is this an essay!?", Miss Darla threw the piece of paper at him.
Do you want to know what it read?
Dear Electricity,
It electrocutes me.
From your dear friend,
Electrocuted.
"Are you kidding Raymond?!", Miss Darla yelled.
" Why but I never did that, ma'am."
The whole class burst into laughter.
"Raymond, meet me in detention!", Miss Darla ordered.
"Oh, man", he wailed still with his mischievous smile on.
Or take a look at this...
"Raymond, what's this thrash!?", Miss Lorraine asked pointing to Ray and then to the book she was holding.
"Hydroelectric energy is the energy from water or the ocean. When we take in water, we take in hydroelectricity!",
" That's exactly what it says, ma'am", he said.
The class burst into laughter yet again.
"Detention!", Miss Annoying announced.
"Raymond, what is this?"
"Detention!"
"What's this nonsense?!"
"Detention!"
"Detention!"
"Detention!"
Raymond did go for detention but he never stayed in the detention room for long.
"Raymond E McCarthy, GET BACK IN HERE AT ONCE!"
That was from the teacher.
"Raymond, go back into the detention room!"
And that came from the sound system connected to the principal's office.
"Sorry principal, I don't think detention is meant for me!", Raymond yelled back.
Of course, Kally, Jaz and I were waiting for him outside the room like we always did.
" Do you only live once?", I asked him.
"You do know that you will come back to school tomorrow right?", Kally added.
" You guys do know that nothing can affect his grades right?", Jaz asked us.
"We know but-"
"I don't care!", Ray cut us off.
" I don't care about anything!"

And back at home, things weren't going too well.
I was annoyed that ma started coming home late.
She never told me the reason why.
"Mom where you coming back from?"
All she ever said was...
"I met someone."
