Kally's P.O.V.

It was irritating trying to pretend to not notice that suspicious people were watching you wherever you went.

But I tried.

Jaz tried.

Ray tried.

Jules didn't need to try because she was clueless about absolutely everything.

She still hasn't even found out that Ethan and Raymond are the same person.

Raymond's tolerance level is incredible because I would go crazy if my childhood best friend couldn't recognize me.

I put my book down and scanned the class.

Exams were over and we had the next weeks to ourselves because the teachers were occupied in the staff rooms, trying to mark our papers.

The class was very noisy and people were asking others whether they think they would do well or not.

My eyes met Jazlyn's and he waved at me.

Then I looked at Jules's table.

She laughed at something Ray had said.

I frowned when a disturbing thought crossed my mind.

Jules wouldn't be smiling like that when she finds out that Raymond is Ethan.

What am I saying?

She won't even be smiling at all.

She'll smack him on the face with a pillow made of stones and start going on and on, blaming him for what happened 7 years ago.

When he's not at fault!

Why don't we just tell her that? you may ask.

She won't listen!

She never listens!

Raymond got up and went over to talk with some people, so I went and sat on the chair beside Jules.

"I can see that things are going well between you two."

"I've begun to trust him", she shrugged.

My eyes widened.

Trust?

It's going to be hard to untrust him when she later discovers that Ray is Ethan. (Yeah, untrust is a word alright!)

That's good because the trust she has for him would not allow her to hate him.

Not bad Ray, not bad.

All he had left to do was to tell Jules that he and Ethan are the same person.

I looked into her eyes.

That look!

It's that look again!

I forced her to look at me.

" You trust him because he is just like Ethan, right?"

He is Ethan, Jules.

"Right?", I asked again.

Jules didn't admit it but she didn't deny it either.

So it must have been true.

I sank in my chair and closed my eyes allowing darkness to envelop me.

But as soon as I closed my eyes, I reopened them panting heavily.

Thank God Jules didn't notice.

I hate darkness and I find it hard to sleep.

All because of those assaulters I had waiting at home.

Should I even call that house a home?

It doesn't deserve to be called a home.

The bad memories come flooding in when I close my eyes so I avoid doing that as much as possible.

Another thing I avoid is that wretched house of a home.

That's why I love going to school.

Even though the school is very noisy, I find peace there.

Note that I hate noise.

All because of those things that call themselves men.

I was going to get justice for myself.

And in the course of doing that, they were going to suffer miserably.

I sat on top of the counter in the kitchen of Jules house.

As usual, I was staying over.

Staying over...

I had done that a lot, I just noticed.

I even had my own bedroom in Jules's house.

I had a closet full of clothes and most of my stuff at Jules's house.

Even though it was only Jules and her mom, the house always seemed full.

But not today.

Someone was missing.

I looked at Jules as she cut the vegetables for the fried rice we were making.

" Jules, where is mom?"

I was used to calling Jules's mother my mom.

I once mistook her for my deceased mother when I was 7.

I've been calling her mom ever since and no one was against.

Even Jules had no problem with sharing her mom.

I was like a daughter to her.

Or at least, that is what she always said.

Jules dropped the knife.

"I don't know?"

My left brow rose in question form.

"What do you mean by that?"

Jules turned to face me.

"I mean what I said. She comes back late nowadays, saying that she met someone."

I thought about it carefully.

"Do you think she's dating someone?"

Jules shook her head.

"If she was dating someone she would tell us."

I nodded. "That's true."

Then after some time, I said, "That's weird."

Jules wasn't supposed to hear it but she did anyway.

"It is, isn't it?"
