"Let's point out possibilities, shall we?"
Jaz nodded.
"Okay, I'll begin."
"There is a possibility that Kally will never allow me to touch her again", he said.
I agreed.
" That's true but let's get serious. Many things have been happening lately. We're finally on a 1-week midterm, let's start investigating."
"Okay, it's possible that Rona is a transgender."
I marked it on my wall.
"It's possible that Miguel Gonzalez aka Reed will meet his boss during this period so we have to keep an eye on him."
I marked it on my wall.
"Next?", I asked Jaz.
" Let's see...", he began.
"There is a possibility that Kally's stepbrother has mental problems."
"Okay", I marked it on my wall.
" It's also possible that Jules's mom is secretly dating someone", I added wiggling my eyebrows at Jaz.
"Ooohhhh. Yeah", Jaz said marking it on my wall.
We decided yesterday, to spend our midterms at Jules house.
And with her mom rarely coming home, and about 5 available rooms in the house, we were good to go.
" Back to seriousness!", I yelled and Jaz straightened up.
"There is a huge possibility that Kally's stepbrother and stepfather will try to kill us now that Kally told us about everything they did to her", Jaz said frowning.
And how they killed her parents!
I used to think her stepbrother was a good guy.
I was wrong.
I marked it on my wall.
" There's a possibility that Nana won't survive", I said avoiding Jaz's eyes.
He got up and held me by the collar.
"What are you saying man, don't you believe in grandma? Nana is a fighter. Snap out of it!"
I agreed with him but I marked it on the wall anyway.
After all, it's still a possibility.
I cleared my throat.
"Did you know that a 7-year-old girl witnessed Kally's stepbrother killing Kally's parents. We probably knew the girl because Kally's parents were murdered in our school. Her stepbrother stayed at a psychiatric hospital for 2 years, " Jaz told me.
"Really? So her stepbrother probably still has mental problems. And who was the 7-year-old girl that witnessed everything?", I asked.
Jaz shook his head.
" Kally said her stepbrother didn't tell her. And he's probably murdered her."
I nodded.
"Yeah, maybe."
"Wait! Kally said once when her stepbrother was beating her, he said something along the lines of, 'If that friend of yours didn't report to the police, I wouldn't have gone to a psychiatric hospital!' ", Jaz informed me.
So the girl that witnessed the murder was most likely a friend we made when we were seven, but who?
" Let's put that aside for now. Any other possibilities?", Jaz asked bringing me back down to earth.
I thought hard until I got a strange idea.
"Kally's parents! They died but Kally was never allowed to visit them on their death anniversary."
"So what are you saying?", Jaz asked with a brow lifted up.
I turned to the wall marking what I was thinking about before I turned to Jaz.
" Be honest, there's at least 1% chance that one of Kally's parents is still alive."
Jaz was quietly putting everything together when finally his eyes gleamed.
"That. Is. Actually...Smart!"
I got up and held out my palm to Jaz.
"What do you say, partner. What about we go for another adventure."
He took it.
"Definitely!"

"So you guys finally came out of that room. Come have lunch!"
We entered the dining room and sat down.
"Hello babe, " Jaz sat beside Kally but didn't touch her.
He was respecting her.
"Hello", I said sitting opposite Jules.
After eating, I looked at Jaz.
It was time to put our plan into action.
I put my arm on the table and rested my head on it.
" So...Kally."
"Yeah?", she looked up at me.
" Were your parents buried?"
"Why are you asking that!", Jules hissed at me.
" Just curious."
"You are always curious!", Jules hissed again.
" And you always misunderstand!", I threw back harsher than expected.
She looked hurt.
I was about to apologise when Kally spoke up.
"It's okay, Jules. No, they weren't buried. They were cremated."
"Where?", I asked immediately.
" In a columbarium named 'Death's Test.' My mom is in 601 and my dad is in 602."
Victory!
I smiled and Jaz cleared his throat standing up.
I stood up too.
"Guys, Jaz and I are going for a ride."
