Jazlyn's P. O. V.
"Hugh!!!", my mom called from the kitchen.
"Hughton's! Mom is asking for you!", I informed my youngest, six-year-old brother who was still fast asleep.
"Alex, Albert, Jazlyn!Come here!", my dad ordered in his French accent.
To be clear, I already questioned my parents a lot about why they decided to gift me, nine brothers.
It's more like they decided to drop the responsibility of taking care of nine brothers on me.
I have such a sad life.
We got out of our rooms, still in our PJs, and went to the hall, to meet dad.
I was particularly annoyed, because I had drunk a lot the night before and was experiencing a serious hangover but no one seemed to care, did they?
"Why aren't you guys ready for school?", my dad asked quite confused.
And...
Boom!
My day just started going bad and it's getting worse.
Argh!
Dad not today!
"But we just woke up!", we replied innocently.
"So? And where are the rest of your good for nothing six brothers?", dad asked showing that he was hungry for information.
Alex was about to speak, but I stopped him and decided to speak.
Since I was the eldest anyway, I was the one supposed to be the sacrificial lamb.
"Hugh is still fast asleep, Henry is in his room chatting with his basketball mates on his tablet, and Tony is playing soccer with Drew at the back of the house... ", I rambled, panting.
"Enough! Now go get ready for school!", Dad commanded.
It wasn't the first time my dad was making that stupid, confusing mistake.
It was like he wanted to be rid of us so much that he expected us to always be in school.
There was this one time when he actually dragged us to school on a Sunday and the principal could say nothing.
Our schools have been through so much just because of our family.
"Pops, today is a Saturday", Tony said appearing from behind the door that led to the kitchen.
"Yeah and you are always too busy to realize it", I pointed out completely worn out and irritated.
"No! That's a lie!", pops denied heading towards the kitchen.
Note that the one thing pa could never admit to was his mistakes.
"John, what do you want?", mom asked angrily.
She hated distractions when she was cooking.
She was a serious chef who would cut off your fingers and serve them to you if you interrupted her while she was cooking.
"Isn't this normal, Joan? So is today a Saturday?", dad asked.
"Yep!", she replied popping the "P", as we silently tiptoed away from the scene.
"Hey! Listen to me I'm talking to you!", dad ordered, but all he said went through deaf ears.
I just don't know how long it was going to take pops to stop making those ridiculous mistakes.
"Guys, going back to bed?", Albert asked yawning.
"Yeah!", everyone agreed.
"Nah, not me! I have some mid-day calls to make!", I admitted.
"Ooooh!!!", they teased.
"Just don't go hard on her! ", Albert warned mocking me.
"Yeah, or she'll blow up from you being too romantic! ", Alex joked and they gave themselves high fives.
"Yeah, yeah! ", I muttered and entered the room.
My family is a load of drama.

" What are you doing here, babe?", Kally asked me when she saw me in front of Bonjour Cafe.
I saluted to Raymond through the transparent windows of the cafe and turned back to Kally.
"Do I need a reason to be here?", I asked hoping she wouldn't say yes.
She looked up at me and put her hands on her waist.
" Yes. As a matter of fact, you do."
I sighed.
Nothing I hope for comes true.
I rushed over to her and put my hands on her shoulders, massaging them.
"Don't get so tensed, babe. I was about to call you when Ray sent me a message saying that you knew he was Ethan and that he told you everything. So I decided to come pick you up."
She shrugged."Okay."
I hugged her from behind.
"Babe, I'm hungover and I'm aching all over", I grumbled.
She turned to face me.
" Where does it hurt?", she asked.
"Is it here", she rose my palm and kissed it.
" Or here?", she kissed my forehead.
"Or here?", she kissed my left cheek then my right.
" What about here. It hurts the most", I pointed to my lips.
"Let me think about it."
She folded her arms."No."
Ouch.
Just then Ray came out of the cafe.
"Why don't you guys go on a date or something", he walked past us.
" Here. Use my car", he threw his keys to me and I caught them with ease.
"Thanks, man", I said.
He nodded, stopped a taxi and entered it.
" Let's go to the amusement park."
"Are you sure babe. You are still hangover."
"Anything for you Kally, " I just said.
"I am curious about one thing though."
"What is it?", she inquired.
" Why is it that since we turned 7, you never allowed us to pay a visit and actually enter your house?", I asked the question.
She smiled sadly.
"Let's just say the atmosphere at my house is not a pleasant one."
She was telling the truth then.
But I didn't know that.
