3 Months Later

I was adjusting to being on my own again, but I certainly was living.  My phone rang.  "Hello." I said grinning.

"Hey girl! What are you doing?" My best friend, Sharon, voiced through the phone.

"Nothing," I shook my head as if she could see me then I leaned against my kitchen counter. "I just finished cleaning and doing little things like that.  I have a lot of spare time on my hands because Brielle is over her daddy's house." I said rolling my eyes.  Yes, I know I said that he'd never see Brielle, but Brielle begged and cried to see him.  She was absolutely a Daddy's girl, and besides that, he is her dad; despite the relationship between Sebastian and I, I shouldn't starve Brielle of seeing her daddy.  Sebastian and I made Brielle.  It was a 50/50 thing, not a 60/40, 70/30, and so on.

Sharon laughed.  "How is my god neice, and you do know that I'm making you come out tonight, don't you?" She asked matter-of-factly.

I smiled.  "Brielle is fine.  She's just like her mother and I'm fine with that." I flipped my hair over my shoulder like I was on a Covergirl commercial then I smirked.

"Uh-oh, you do know that her being just like you is a bad thing right?" Sharon meddled.

"Whatever, girl, you know I'm the stuff.  I'm all that plus a shopping trip! Anyway, where are you trying to take me tonight?" I asked.

Sharon thought for a moment.  "I was thinking maybe a Girl's Night Out dinner. I'm talking lobster, steak, seafood, and all that other stuff.  We got money!" She laughed.

I laughed with her.  "Yeah, we do have money! My paycheck has been looking pretty especially with the trustfund my grandmother left me."

"If I didn't know any better, it sounds like you're glad that that woman is dead!" Sharon screeched then followed directly behind that with a giggle.

"Whatever.  I didn't know her.  I'm not glad she's dead, but I'm glad she left me some type of money.  She helped me create a Rainy Day/Brielle's College fund bank account." I said nonchalantly.

"Get dressed, and be at the Golden Savory at 8 o'clock!" She said completely disregarding everything I just said.

        "Okay." I agreed.

"Girl.." Sharon said pausing waiting for me to reply.

"What's up?" I questioned arching an eyebrow. It sounded like her complete mood changed in one word.

"How are you holding up? Don't lie to me like you're over Sebastian.  You loved that man." Sharon said knowing that I was going to try to lie my way out.

I paused before I said anything.  I needed to think of a way to describe my emotions towards Sebastian.  It was like the words I could use didn't describe it well enough.  "Umm, I'm making it. It still feels a little raw when I have to watch him and Brielle leave together.  You know? I'm just used to all of us being together as a unit.  It stills hurts, but I know it's done.  I see it in his eyes that he doesn't have that same spark for me anymore.  Do I still love him? I mean yeah, but I have to move on." I replied.  I could feel my heart becoming heavy again.

"I understand. If you ever need anything, I'm going to be here for you through thick and thin." Sharon said.

"Thanks girl, I'm about to go get dressed." I said.
