With Dark now gone, Natemare and I have been watching over the castle and the realm. Apparently news got out about Dark leaving, but the rumor was that he just flat-out vanished. That was fine with me for the other spirits to think, considering I would've been hated on if they found out I was the cause of their old king going back to reality.
Honestly, I have no idea what I am to the others. They're pretty aware that I'm inane, so I doubt they'd think of me as a 'king'.
Natemare on the other hand has.. hated me since Dark left. He says that he wasted his energy on something he didn't agree to, and that Dark didn't ask for it.
I guess he's right. Mark just had so much more to live for in the real realm unlike here as Dark. I didn't.
Felix was killed and I have a friend here, Natemare. Besides, I like my powers, really. And if I ever get lonely, there's my geo to annoy the fuck out of me.
I chuckled slightly at the thought of the geo, catching Natemare's attention as he sat across from me on a separate couch, settled in front of the fireplace.
"What?" he asked with a snarky tone.
"What? Oh, sorry, just thinking.. is all," I replied, blinking quickly.Nate scoffed, standing up right with his staff perched in his hand.
"You're damn right you're thinking. What the hell did you think you were doing?! We just lost Dark!" he argued, his gaze fixated on mine.I sighed sharply, continuing to stay sat.
"Nate, it's been a week. Can you please stop holding on to this grudge?" I questioned. He let out a heavy breath.
"It's not a grudge. You seriously did something wrong. I've never studied what happens if a spirit were to actually go through the portal. So, Dark might have just vanished from existence instead of becoming Mark again."I moaned. "Couldn't you had told me that before, when I were going to go through it? Was that even a consideration?"
Nate shook his head, followed with a snicker.
"No, I was too focused on actually draining my own energy from my fingertips for your own well-being and your own desires. Are you grateful at the slightest?"I wasn't trying to push anything with Natemare. I was surprise he even was still talking to me after my actions.
"..Sorry, you're right. You did a lot for me and I took it for granted. I'm sorry."Nate was quiet for a long time before replying.
"If I had the energy to I would pummel you right now. But I guess you're forgiven slightly."I chuckled at him, standing up. We met gazes and sighed.
"Are you going to be alright without Dark even though you intentionally made him leave?" he asked simply. I hesitated, yet nodded.
"Sure. I have a friend and some inhumane powers.. can't be that bad."Nate laughed hollowly before growing quiet.
"But.. Dark loved you. Didn't you see that? He was fine here with us. With you. Now he might never know what he did wrong."I bit my lip, sighing heavily.
"Do you think you'll ever see him again?" He asked.
I stood quietly momentarily before eyeing Nate willingly with a simple nod.
