-Lydia's POV-

The last few nights have been the most I've slept in a long while, waking every morning feeling refreshed. I couldn't explain it. It was Thursday, August 1st and the day of my tour on campus. Coming down to the dining room, I found Peter and Drogo at the table. I greeted them both and sat down with a glass of pulp free orange juice and a banana nut muffin. Feeling awkward to be the only one eating, I asked, "Are either of you going to eat or just keep watching me out of the corner of your eye while talking to each other?" Peter's expression showed embarrassment, but Drogo seemed like he was amused by what I said. He stood up and walked around to stand behind me, leaning over to whisper in my ear, which made me cringe. "Does Little Thing enjoy being watched?"

I immediately dropped the glass of orange juice as his presence and words made me shudder. "Drogo!" Peter spoke loud with a demanding tone as he stood up from the table. "Whaaat? I was just having a little bit of fun," he confessed. "That is enough! Look what you did! She spilled her drink because of you." He turned towards me and said, "Lydia, don't worry about cleaning that up. I will take care of it." "But isn't this part of my job description?" I asked honestly. "Not this time," he replied with the look of sympathy in his eyes.

"Go get ready and I will walk with you to the university." I nodded, got up from the table and glared at Drogo as I walked past him standing and leaning against the wall near the doorway. He smirked all the more at me. (Oh! I am beginning to hate him! He is going to be a handful as well, let alone Lorie, who I can already tell is a spoiled little brat.) Drogo is close to the top of my list of those not to be trusted, but even though my mind told me not to trust any man, Peter and Nicolae seemed to make me feel calm. I didn't know what it was, but I felt safe around them, especially Peter.

The two of us walked in silence when we headed down the road side by side. My heart was racing again, which happened every time I was with him. My mind continued to wander in thought. (Why do I feel this way when he is near?... Wait. Is he looking at me?) When he thought I wasn't looking, I could sense his gaze on me. Finally, chancing a look directly at him, he turned his gaze forward up ahead. "Well, here we are. I will walk you to where you need to go to sign in for the tour." "Thank you, Peter." "Now, I have already done mine, so I will be in the library in the meantime." "Okay. I will see you later then."

-Peter's POV-

I walked off towards the library building after leaving Lydia at the sign-in table set up outside the front of the administration building. I was almost to the door when I sensed her heart beating faster. Turning around to see what was causing her current state of unrest, there was Loan and his football teammates getting too close for her liking. I started to walk back slowly. (Is that fear in your eyes, Lydia?)

Listening from a distance, the conversation was clear enough to hear every word. Loan spoke first, "Hey there. You must be new in town cause I know I would've remembered a pretty face like yours." Lydia did a fake grin nod in his direction and tried to move away. "What's the matter, sweetheart? You think I'll bite? I won't.... Unless you want me to." Loan said that last part as a whisper in her ear and it angered me. I could tell it was definitely fear in her eyes now. (What happened to you, Lydia, to have such a reaction to a pathetic jock like Loan? I saw you flinch when he called you sweetheart too.) I had more than enough and was about to go to her aid when someone else intervened within the crowd.

"Leave her alone, Loan!" "You can always join us, Sarah. Right, boys?" Loan looked to his friends for approval. Even though I don't like her and her family much, I was glad she was there for Lydia's sake. "You're a sick perv, you know that? Bug off, jerk! Go play with Samantha." Sarah stepped up next to Lydia, put her arm through hers and guided her away. I decided at that point to finally go inside the library, knowing she will be okay for now.
