Liam's POV
It was hot outside. Like, ridiculously hot. Like popsicle-melting-in-your-hand-in-under-a-minute-or-so hot.
Virgina Beach, though, was as pretty as you'd ever seen it.
Even prettier when there was a pretty girl who took your breath away every time you liked at her sitting next to you.
It was damned beautiful when you remembered that that pretty girl was your girlfriend who you could touch or kiss or wholly, entirely love whenever you wanted.
It is was breathtaking when she turned her sparkling green eyes up at you and smiled, a silent question of "what are you looking at" playing within them.
I took her hand and kissed the back of it.
"I guess I just forget sometimes."
"Forget what," Ruby asked.
I smiled a little before answering. "How incredible you are... and how lucky I am to have you in my life."
Her cheeks burned bright pink, her lips pursing, her eyes a little glossy. And then she laughed, and it was the most genuine, ethereal sound I'd ever heard.
I smiled. We'd be just fine, just as long as she kept looking like she was the queen of the world.
Lord knows she's the queen of mine.
