Chapter 3 - Keep Me By Your Side

" I wouldn't want her parents to worry."

Then I gave him a look that said ' I got this' and I said:

" I'll stay."

His gaze was now turned towards me. He was shocked at my response but he wasn't sad, he was rather happy. I looked at Aiden. He pointed at me, without saying a word and then at the bed. I understood that he meant for me to sit on the bed, so I did that. He walked towards his closet and rummaged through it. After 5 minutes he had found a hoodie and threw it at my face:

"Rude."

I said. He didn't turn around, instead, he focused his head forward. He grabbed some clothes and went into the bathroom. I sat there waiting patiently, but I was getting pretty bored so I decided to look around his room. I looked at the pictures he had above his desk and found one of a girl and him laughing. Curiosity burned me on the inside to find out who this girl was but I decided to wait. Aiden soon came out of the bathroom and said:

" Hold up. I'll be back soon."

He exited the room without saying anything else. He soon came back with blankets and pillows in his hands. He then said:

" Make yourself comfortable on the bed I'll sleep on the floor."

He then started to lay the blankets carefully on the ground with the soft carpet. I looked at him with confusion and asked:

"You're not actually going to sleep on the floor are you?"

" Of course I am." he paused " unless you don't want me to."

He had a slight smirk on his face by now. I rolled my eyes and laughed.

" You're such a dork."

For a second our eyes met while we both laughed a bit, but we quickly looked away. I couldn't deny there was something at that moment that sent a slight tingle down my back when his eyes were on me. I then threw myself on the bed and let the soft, fluffy cushions engulf me. He looked at me and chuckled while I turned my head towards him when I took one of the pillows and hid my face in it. After a while, we decided to turn the lights off and go to sleep:

" Goodnight Aiden."

I said softly and he replied

" Goodnight...."

I drifted off to sleep right after he said that.

I woke up the next morning and looked at my phone. Shit. It's 7:30 and school starts at 8, I'm in Aiden's hoodie and have 15 missed calls from mom and dad. Great just great. I quickly ran downstairs and saw Aiden eating breakfast with his mother and another man. Aiden turned around when he heard my footsteps and said:

" Goodmorning. Here, sit. We'll leave soon"

I quickly hurried to the table and sat next to him. Then the man that I noticed at first was now looking at me. I gently kicked Aiden under the table and he knew exactly what to do:

" Oh um uuuuh.... Dad this is my girlfriend Angela."

Silence.

" Hello, Mr Johnson. How are you?"

I reach my hand across the table and he gently shakes it. For a while, I just sit there while he eyes me up and down as if he could see through my soul. Kinda scary but understandable. After finishing breakfast Aiden hurries me up to his room gives me clothes to change into. In 10 minutes we are already in his car and I'm calling my parents to tell them that everything is okay and I just slept at Molly's house. Molly has been my BFF for almost all my life. As soon as we arrive at school Aiden gets out of the car and opens the door for me.

" M'lady."

He bows down and I laugh.

" Thank you, kind sir."

He walks me to my locker. I was used to being invisible but now everybody was staring at me. When we arrive at my locker he says

" I'll see you soon dolly."

And walks off without saying another word.
