Liquorice was sitting beside Faith before a crackling flame. The skies were painted deeper shades of red and orange, the flame mimicking the sky almost.

Upon their shoulders was a small grey fuzzy blanket they took from Liquorice's closet. Liquorice was playing with the flame with a long stick, moving around the logs they burnt.

Liquorice wore a short white dress with small pink hearts embroidered onto the bottom. Faith wore a nightgown paired with a white robe that had flicks of soot embedded onto it.

"What're you thinking about, my little L?" Faith asks softly, seeing Liquorice daydream while staring blankly at the flames.

"I want to be kissed and thrown into a fire, F." Liquorice slowly turns to look at the woman beside her. She looked pretty wearing Liquorice's clothes, she made it look good.

Liquorice giggles upon seeing Faith's confused face. Faith looked concerned and looked as if she was dying to ask what she meant by that, but she stayed silent.

"I'm not even going to ask." Faith states, shaking her head. "I feel like I'd just get sad if I knew the reason beyond those words."

"Sad? Why sad? F, are you okay?" Liquorice grabs Faith's hand. "You can tell me anything, Faith."

Faith smiled sadly. The butterflies in her stomach long gone as the insides of her felt lifeless and sad. Faith knew about John and Liquorice, she knew about Liquorice sleeping with him. Word travels fast.

"I know, it's just lately I've been feeling a bit low, but it's probably nothing." Faith picks a stray piece of grass off of the gown. She avoided Liquorice's eyes.

Liquorice felt her heart drop. She was busy daydreaming about John Seed, she hadn't noticed Faith's sadness.

"F, you know I love you." Liquorice says softly, rubbing small circles onto Faith's hand. "I'm going to stick around for you, F." Liquorice smiles sweetly to Faith, who had looked up to Liquorice.

"I'm fine, you can go see John. Don't feel forced to stay behind with me."

"No, F. I want to stay. I don't feel forced in any way." Liquorice squeezes Faith's small hand in her own, reassuringly.

Faith smiles.

"Now about you feeling low, I demand you take a bubble bath." Liquorice says in a lighthearted
tone to the woman beside her. "After that we can drive to the town nearby for something expensive for you."

Faith covers her face with her hands, nothing but joy written on her feminine features. She smiled into her palms widely.

"That sounds so nice." Faith whispers weakly to Liquorice. "But I kinda just lay on your bed and listen to sad opera songs."

"At least do the bubble bath part?" Liquorice asks, shifting her body on the lawn chair. "I promise we can listen to sad opera songs right after you do take it."

Faith nods, pulling her hands from her face. Liquorice tucks her hair behind her ear before rising from the chair.

She extends a hand to help Faith out of the chair with a small smile pressing into her cheeks.
