•A soft song rung through the speakers of Liquorice's light blue car. Wrapped around her head was a white floral scarf. Atop her nose was a pair of deep red sunglasses that complimented her outfit. She wore a short white baby doll dress with cherries on it.
"Where do you get all these dresses from, Lana?" John asks, his left arm rested on top of the opening for the windows. He looked at Liquorice's exposed thigh.
Liquorice pulls the sunglasses off of her face and folds them and stuffs them into a glove compartment. "J, baby, there's a thing called a store." Liquorice regularly drove out of town to shop for dresses and what not a town over.
Liquorice could see the security fences surrounding the compound, she had always wondered why it was necessary, but never asked about it.
John pulls the door open with a smirk rested on his lips. Liquorice steps out of the vehicle, and John shuts the door behind her.
"Why are we here, J?" Liquorice asked. The sun was swallowed up by the horizon, leaving endless dark blue skies behind.
"I was going to take you on a walk by the waters, but I do not think you would be interested." John says, hinting at Liquorice.
Liquorice's eyes widen with excitement. She grabs John's arm. "I would love that."
He pulls Liquorice gently back towards him.
"Not here."
Liquorice looks curiously at him.
He shrugs. He pulls Liquorice to her car, and right before she reached for the handle to the car, he grabs her hand and entwines their fingers.
"I will drive, Lana."
Liquorice nods, untangling her fingers from his own before stepping aside, presenting the driver side to him.
He smirks before putting his hand on Liquorice's cheek, feeling the warm skin on his hands.
Liquorice closes her eyes, putting her own hands to his. She feels him press a soft kiss onto her forehead before he pulls away from her.
"Looks like you want to stay here. I had told you that you would not be interested."
Liquorice laughs, going to the passenger side and climbing in.
"Me? Not go on a romantic walk with a specimen that's called a John Seed? I wouldn't give it up for the world."
"What is a John Seed?" John asks, a pretend worried look on his face. "Do I have to be afraid, L?"
"Unbelievable." She shakes her head, interrupting his acting session. "You called me L. Are you alright, John?"
John shrugs. He turns the keys, igniting the engine. "Probably not. Ask me something that I would never answer."
"Wow. You call me L and are willing to answer a question?"
"Yes."
Liquorice thinks for a second. She opens the window to let the cool air in.
"Hmm." Liquorice thinks out loud. "Who is John Seed, J?"
