Liquorice awoke bathed in golden sunlight that seeped through her blinds. Her dress was crumpled, and her hair in tangles.

She had lipstick dripping down her chin in red streaks. Her mascara was in crusts on her long eyelashes.

She was beautiful, even in a ugly haze.

Today she decided on a blue velvet dress that she longed to wear since last night. It was different than her usual soft pastel dresses.

As she looked in the mirror she frowned. Dark Blue velvet seemed way better in her head yesterday. She quickly wiped the makeup off and went back to her closet.

She decided on a light blue dress that reached below her knees, a dress made for spinning delicately while flower petals fall off her hair.

Liquorice was in a good mood today.

"Hello Cherri." Liquorice picks the cat up and spins, kissing the poor cat's face. The cat jumped out of her arms when she lightened her grip.

Liquorice wanted to write love songs while sitting on the roof under the blue skies. She felt inspired today.

As she walked into her living room, she noticed it was empty. It was still messy with papers and drawings of flowers, but it was empty. There was nobody there to be happy with.

She would march to John's house, but she doesn't know where he lives. All she knows is that he lives in a castle, and that he's hot.

As she opened the cupboards, wanting a cigarette, it was empty except for a rose-coloured paper.

She grabs the paper, a bit sad her stash is gone.

"Lana,
I adored coming to your place, but we all must leave at one point.
-J"

Her lips fell into a pout. Even his writing was hot.

But she pay no attention to it. He took her cigarettes. He is doing god knows what with it.

She sadly sat on one of her chairs.

As she thought about the events yesterday, she hears a knock on her door.

Her head snaps towards her door, and quickly gets up when it gets louder.

"Hey F." Liquorice smiles warmly to the shorter woman at the door.

"Hi L." Faith smiles back, happy to see her favourite person. Faith invites herself in, heading for the kitchen.

"Was John here?" Faith asks, pulling out an orange from the fridge.

"How do you know?"

"Sweetheart, I can smell his thick perfume." She pulls the skin from the orange, unveiling the lighter flesh underneath.

"Yeah. He walked me home yesterday." Liquorice sighs, crumpling the rose-coloured paper in her palm.

"While you left me with Dylan?" Faith rolls her eyes, plucking a piece from the orange with her middle finger and her thumb.
