Aizawa Shota surveyed the buildings around him with a calculating gaze. He was perched on the windowsill of the fourth floor, fairly out in the open. He held his capture tape tightly in one hand, the other supporting his crouched position.
His eyes were trained on a boy with large gloves and some sort of staff, most likely to compensate for a non-combat related quirk. The boy hadn't yet spotted him, too busy searching the streets and ground floors of buildings. He sighed adjusting his goggles as he prepared.
A nearby speaker suddenly announced that there were forty-five minutes remaining. The boy looked over at the speakers, foolishly ignoring his surroundings. Aizawa wasted no time in swooping down to take out the kid, who's attention had switched to the speakers.
The boy attempted to counterattack, pressing a button on the staff which sent a crackling surge of electricity towards the underground hero. Aizawa simply used his capture weapon to latch onto a nearby light post and avoid it entirely. He jumped at the kid again, who was now in a defensive stance.
The kid ducked under the weapon, brandishing the staff. He attempted to slam it into Aizawa's side, who kicked the staff away and elbowed the kid in the head. He stumbled back, dazed, and Aizawa wasted no time in wrapping him with the provided capture tape.
A buzzer sounded, announcing the kid's failure. The boy sighed and walked toward the exit. Aizawa continued onward, looking for another building he could scope out examinees from.
'That kid put up more of a fight than I expected. He left himself wide open though.'
He darted around a corner, eyes frantically searching the area from behind his goggles. Keeping his ears pierced for the sound of any other examinees. The buildings were a blur as he ran past.
He turned down a dodgy alley, still searching for lookouts. He spotted a large window with a broken glass pane, close to the ground and easy to get through.
He jumped through the broken window, careful to avoid the sharp glass scattering the floor, leading to an abandoned looking warehouse. He looked around, finding it filled with tall metal shelves normally used for storing packages. The warehouse was well-lit by the large spotlights hanging from the ceiling.
'I'll have to keep an ear out; it may be bright but, this place is full of hiding places.'
He rolled his shoulders which were starting to ache from the constant slouching. He leaned slightly against one of the shelves. He took of his goggles and laid them on the floor beside him.
The complete silence within the warehouse assured him; the warehouse's floor was mostly made of concrete, likely for easy repairs by Cementoss, making it almost impossible to move around without noise. He rolled his sleeve up slightly and checked his watch.
'Half an hour left. I'll have to go capture some more examinees, can't let too many hopeless causes to pass.'
He quietly chuckled to himself, rolling his sleeve back down and pulling out some eye drops for his irritated eyes.
'Most of them couldn't even function without their quirks. That girl with the glowing eye didn't even try to fight, she just ran. Although, the fact she had the sense to avoid combat means she isn't a total lost cause.'
He got back up, grabbing his goggles. He walked briskly towards another window, which was covered with spider-web cracks and hanging open. He slowed down for a second as something dawned on him.
The warehouse was quiet - no, silent.
He heard nothing.
Not even his own footsteps.
