Clementine stepped into the cafeteria; her mind relatively calm for once. She looked around, taking in her new surroundings.
There was a group of people sitting around a table, all still in workout clothing. She recognized some of them from before the exam, the most notable (read: the most noticeable quirk mutations) being the pink-skinned bug girl, deer antlered/eared boy, blue electric haired girl and the towering mutant-quirk guy.
The bug girl was chatting happily with the tall mutant-quirk guy and deer boy, heavily absorbed in their conversation and not noticing her arrival. The others had in fact noticed her and, after lots of whispering and looks in her direction, seemed content to ignore her entirely.
The only one acknowledging her was the girl whose blue hair crackled with electricity and, judging by her glares and sneers, she wasn't particularly inclined for conversation.
Clementine sighed as she approached Lunch Rush, politely inquiring about any lighter meals or snacks. After settling for a sandwich and protein bar, she sat down at a table. She took out a notebook and began noting down everything she knew about Thirteen's quirk and any potential obstacles in the race.
She was broken out of her brainstorming when the cafeteria doors were flung open and looked over at the culprit, or rather, culprits. She watched a group of students, who were chatting loudly to each other, step in. All of them were adorned with the signature blue and red gym uniforms of UA. She sighed, deciding to ignore them rather than engage the loud, disruptive group.
'They're acting like they own the place.' Viola said discontentedly.
'Well, they kinda do? I mean, this is their school after all.' Rosie chirped.
'But do they have to be so loud? I can barely hear myself think.' She complained.
'Shut it, I'm trying to come up with a plan.' Clementine scolded.
'Calm down. I'm sure they're just hyped up from whatever training they were doing.' Miyuki said.
'Well, I'd really like some peace and quiet.' Viola continued.
'Less complaining, more planning!'
'Speaking of which, how far do you think the course stretches? Do you think we'll be able to see the finish line from the starting point?' Miyuki said.
'Why does that matte- Oh. Miyuki, you clever bastard.' Viola said.
'Wouldn't that be against the rules? To just, skip the entire race?' Rosie wondered.
'If quirks are allowed, which I suspect they will, there's nothing stopping you.' A new alter butted in.
'Ruby? When'd you get here?'
'Sunila is busy helping Saffron in the Inner World. She told me to keep an eye on you.' Ruby explained.
'Oh. Well, will she be back by the next stage?' Miyuki enquired.
'Likely, yes.'
'Okay, so, Sunila does with the final stretch of the course. Who wants to do the start, that is, if we can't see the finish line from there?' Viola said.
'I'll do it.'
'You sure?' Rosie asked.
Clementine's answer was cut off by shouting from across the room. After looking for the source, she spotted the loud UA students standing across from the electric haired girl, 'We should really ask for her name.' Miyuki commented, arguing loudly.
