'You can do this, you can do this,' Miyuki tried to psyche herself up, 'you can do this, you can-'
'Come on, 'yuki.' Came Viola's reminder. 'You're going to be fine. I'm right here if things go wrong, which they won't,' she said, cutting off Miyuki's anxious disagreement, 'and the teachers will be looking out for you too. 'specially since it's your first day and all.'
Clementine nodded furiously in agreement, stopping her giddy bouncing for a moment. Miyuki appreciated the sentiment, even if it was diminished by Clem's obvious over eagerness.
(Rosie might be on a constant sugar rush, but when it came to heroes, Clem beat out everyone with her enthusiasm.)
'Right.' Miyuki said, 'right, right. I'm gonna open the door now.' She reached her hand towards the (frankly ridiculously oversized) doors. Just as her hand was about to make contact, the doors slide open.
Miyuki retracted her hand in a second, jumping back and tilting a bit too far as she did so. She frantically waved her arms in a panic, but it did nothing as she fell backwards.
"Oh my god." The girl cried. "I'm so sorry. I didn't realise anyone was there!"
"Ow." Miyuki said softly from where she now sat on the floor. She brushed her skirt off with a huff and shakily taking the hand offered. The girl pulled her upright, grabbing Miyuki's arm as she slanted again.
"Oh god. Are you okay? I can take you to the nurse-"
"No, no, it's fine." Miyuki tried to reassure, waving her hands about.
"Ohh, I can't believe I just did that." The girl said, hiding her face in her hands. "...usually I'm the one catching people, not knocking them over." She muttered quietly to herself.
"It's okay, I was pretty spaced out, it's my fault for not noticing." Miyuki said, trailing out into soft, nervous laughter. The girl peaked out from between her fingers, before taking her hands away.
"Huh, I don't recognise you. Are you new, or...?" The girl asked, tilting her head to the side.
"Yeah, um. I'm Rayan Miyuki, I was one of the ones who passed the second entrance exam." She said, bowing. "It's nice to meet you."
"Oh. Oh!" The girl brightened. "I thought you looked familiar! You were the girl from the race, the one Deku wouldn't stop talking about. I'm Uraraka, it's nice to meet you." She bowed back. "So I'm guessing you're in Class 1-A with me, then? Sweet!"
Uraraka glanced up at the clock on the wall behind Miyuki, frowning. "Oh, damn. We should probably get to class, Or Aizawa-sensei will kill us."
"Okay." Miyuki timidly followed Uraraka into the classroom, listening attentively to the girl's excited rambling.
"Huh." Uraraka said, stopping in front of all the desks. "Oh no!" She spun round. "I'm so sorry, Rayan, I completely forgot. I was meant to go get a spare desk for you from the Gen Ed. building!"
"Tha-that's okay. I'll just wait here." Miyuki said.
"Hey, Ochaco-chan!" Someone, a girl with... pink skin, shouted from the back. "We'll keep an eye on the new girl, you go ahead!"
"Thanks, Mina!" Uraraka said, already heading out. She waved goodbye to Miyuki, same bright grin on her face as before. Miyuki waved back, a small smile appearing on her face.
'See? I told you nothing bad would happen.' Viola said with a smug, yet relieved, grin on her face.
'And you've already got someone looking out for you.' Clementine added.
