A/N: tw for minor self-loathing, curtesy of Viola

Viola exited the arena alongside her two new friends, (were they friends? Maybe? Did it even count, since she wasn't the one to befriend them?) Casey happily chatting their ears off as they walked, hanging her head dejectedly.

Sunila had very abruptly shifted control to her, rushing to return to their inner world and check on Rosie. Viola understood, at least she tried to anyway, since Sunila was their protector, though she felt it was a little unnecessary because Ruby and Saffron were there. And Clementine, too.

Viola was not lonely, not at all. She just... wasn't used to fronting without someone close by to switch out with.

As they walked out into the open air, Viola spotted Fujimori sitting on a bench talking with Snipe a little way from the exit. He seemed to be wrapping her hand with a roll of gauze, holding up her wrist to inspect it. There was a first aid kit open on the bench next to her and guessing by the large white plaster on her cheek, this hadn't been her only injury in need of attention.

Sakura's hair, which usually floated around her as if she was in water, was now falling naturally; it seemed a lot shorter than before, barely reaching her shoulders, and was strangely straight without a single curl or tangle.

"Guess everyone has their limits, huh?" Viola startled slightly, not having noticed Casey standing beside her. "I'll admit it makes me feel a bit better that she didn't just breeze through; even someone like her isn't unbeatable."

Viola looked for the familiar crackle of energy she'd come to associate with the girl's electrical hair and found none.

"She overused her quirk as well." Viola shared her discovery. Casey's yellow eyes widened, the bug-like quirk mutation making them almost seem like they were popping out, and a flicker of something flashed over her face before she settled on an amused smirk.

"Yeah, cooldown periods really do suck." Casey said, echoing her earlier words before her eyes flicked back to Viola. "Do you think you'll be able to use your teleportation by the next stage?"

Viola panicked. 'Great, thanks guys. I don't know this. Sunila's so cagey about her quirk, how am I meant to know?'

"Oh! No, sadly I won't be able for a while." Viola tried to excuse, panicking a little.

"Yeah, quirk fatigue can be some serious business!" Casey exclaimed, nodding her head enthusiastically. "You know, I read this article once and it talked about how-"

She stopped her rant before it began, spotting Kiyotaka walking towards the UA building and rushing towards him. Viola ran to catch up with her, amazed by the girl's speed and wheezing pathetically by the time she reached them.

Koji-kun patted her back as she coughed and kept his hand on her back even after she got her breathing back.

The second they entered the building; Recovery Girl was on them. She instantly locked onto an old bruise on Viola's arm and practically dragged her into her office.

Viola sat in silent on one of the medical beds, enduring the Youthful Hero's prodding and scolding. The woman muttered underneath her breath as she inspected Viola, berating and insulting the school staff for neglect.

In truth, Viola hadn't considered herself particularly unfit, but now, sitting here with screaming, stabbing pains all along her limbs and sides, she began to reconsider not implementing any kind of training regime.

The rush of battle, the elation of victory, the pure euphoria of unleashing their quirks had worn away to leave her tired and aching. She hadn't even noticed the bruises along her arm, from Rosie knocking the metal shelves in the very first stage, or the stinging in her palms from the ropes Ruby slid across in the obstacle course.
