On the day the Doctor nearly died, for the seventh time, a woman changed history. although that's not how it should have gone.
I grinned, my plan had worked just as I thought it would. I intervened, I told Melody Pond the story of the man searching the Stars for her. That's enough to make anyone fall in love.
Of course, the Doctor not dying at the fixed point in time messed up the world. Messed up time in the universe itself. But I figured something like that would happen, so I came up with the plan. The most desperate plan, and hopefully the most brilliant one.
When time had first ruptured, the Doctor was concerned. He screamed warnings. Everyone thought he was crazy, so they locked him away. I was glad that this happened, sure it was a bad thing that he was imprisoned, but that meant I had time. While the Doctor was scheming trying to figure out how he was going to fix the world, I was enacting my own plan slowly but surely.
While he was imprisoned, scheming, and talking, I was working ahead. I had given Amy and Rory advice on how to "stop the silence" and how to save the Doctor. They knew that once River and the Doctor came in contact, time would start up again.
I had told Melody Pond of the man who was searching the stars for her, so she reached out to the stars. She wanted him to know he was truly loved.
Of course, one might argue that I loved him more than the stars combined. But, River, the woman from the Doctor's future, knew this was the time I would depart from him.
"Today is the day." Amy had just radioed me that she had gotten the Doctor.
I rushed to where the Tardis was being held, the top of the Pyramid, and started the end of my plan.
The Tardis wheezed, she refused to be a weapon to cause my death. She didn't want to be responsible for me being forgotten twice now. I chuckled to myself, the girl that time forgot twice. I turned on the monitor, and focused in on River and the Doctor.
I would have to time this just right.
The Doctor had once promised Mels, AKA Melody Pond, AKA River Song that he would marry her... and this was the day that he would fulfill that promise.
I listened in, waiting for my cue. "Those reports of the sun spots and the solar flares. They're wrong. There aren't any. It's not the sun, it's you. The sky is full of a million, million voices saying yes, of course we'll help. You've touched so many lives, saved so many people. Did you think when your time came, you'd really have to do more than just ask? You've decided that the universe is better off without you, but the universe doesn't agree."
"River, no one can help me. A fixed point has been altered. Time is disintegrating." That is where you are wrong. History said that a Time Lord died there. I am here, I can escape my fate determined by other Time Lords and help you escape yours.
"I can't let you die-""But I have to die."
"Shut up! I can't let you die without knowing you are loved by so many, and so much, and by no one more than me." Alright, my cue.I opened the Matrix, the heart of the Tardis, once more. I had been used to small doses, it was how she had been in my head. Now, I was changing time using a vessel of time.
"River, you and I, we know what this means. We are ground zero of an explosion that will engulf all reality. Billions on billions will suffer and die." No. Only one will.
The Cybermen once said I was compatable. That I was like them. And they were right. I am just like them, out of my world, out of time, and running out of options.
I delved deeper into the Tardis Matrix. Replacing myself with Amy, River, or just erasing myself. The Doctor fell in love with Melody Pond, the girl he searched the Stars for in order to bring her home.
Now, she is home.
The Tardis was screaming. I heard her in my mind, "Stop! No! Please, you can't! He needs you!"
No he doesn't. Soon, he won't even know the name Iris Grey. He won't even know about the Second Master that was good.
The Tardis screamed, "I won't be responsible!" I felt her warping me. The Doctor had already forgotten. Time had replaced me.
My name is Iris Grey. Then I remembered after time forgot. I am the Master, the last Time Lord from another Universe. I had the drums of war calling in my head as I ended the time war. I had fallen through a crack in time and was forgotten, but my story was far from over. I was remembered, just in time to save the universe again. When the time came though, I only saved it one last time.
My name is Iris Grey and I was the girl that time forgot twice.
***
This book is completed, Iris might return one last time since the Tardis is awesome.
Love ya! ❤
